  1. Alright Sale, you got to be the stopper today. Need to end this losing steak now. And offense, stop being a bunch of b****es and score some runs. Rios can't be expected to do everything.
  2. f*** this team. Absolutely disgusting loss.
  3. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 08:24 PM) How many guys in the lineup are a product of the farm system tonight ? Viciedo.
  4. QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 08:20 PM) God Viciedo is fat and slow Yeah, he packed on some pounds in the offseason.
  5. We really need to fire Jeff Manto. How the f*** does Dunn only have 1 walk this year?
  6. We really need Rios or Dunn to jack one. I don't have a lot of faith in our offense being able to string multiple hits together tonight.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 08:05 PM) Correct! If guys aren't good at the bunt, don't ask them to! But back in Robin's day everyone could bunt!
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 08:03 PM) This lack of hitting with RISP is hard to watch. Just too many easy outs in this lineup right now. Doesn't help when the manager is giving away outs.
  9. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 08:01 PM) That doesn't seem possible. Honestly, I think Robin likes small ball more than pre World Series Ozzie.
  10. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 07:57 PM) Why bunt? Connor can score on a single! Because for some f***ing reason Robin loves bunting more than Ozzie!?!
  11. I was about to say I hate bunting. What a f***ing joke.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 07:50 PM) And they're in a predicament with Rios. He's our best player, by far. Not even close. Except with his age, his career history (2009 and 2011)...do you dare sign him to a 2-3 year deal? I can't imagine a team completely rebuilding almost their entire line-up would be in a position to keep him in his mid 30's. Just doesn't make sense. As good as Gillaspie has looked, at some point he's going to have to show some power. Dude, we have Rios under contract for another year plus a team option. You are looking way too far into the future. A lot of things could change between now and then, no reason to worry about an extension anytime soon.
  13. Holy f*** Rios! Let's just give him AL MVP right now!
  14. That third base umpire has an awesome mustache. Probably the most enjoyable thing I've seen all game.
  15. God damn Kipnis. I hate him and his entire family of crooks.
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 06:35 PM) Cut to 5 years from now, and he's a relief pitcher for Kannapolis. j/k Don't get me wrong, I go back and forth on the subject myself. However, maybe with toolsy prospects it makes more sense to rush them against better pitching before they develop bad against bad pitching and find it harder to make adjustments. Thompson is a great example, as he struggled at first in A+ but was awesome in the 2nd half.
  17. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 06:37 PM) Too.Many.Pitches. Just about to say this. We really need Quintana to go at least 6 innings tonight.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 06:31 PM) Wise should be playing tonight instead of Viciedo, as Masterson has dominated him so far in his career. The problem is that Viciedo has already sat two games in a row. While Wise is obviously the more ideal matchup, we really need to get Tank going and not facing live pitching for three straight games isn't going to help. It's a tough call, but I'd go Viciedo tonight.
  19. I think the Sox believe he will develop quicker if he faces more advanced pitching at A+ and is forced to make adjustments.
  20. Plobably a good time to give Flowers a rest.
  21. The self righteousness on this board is unreal. If you think it was ok for Quentin to charge the mound or simply don't think the act was a big deal, then you're automically assigned meatball status. People need to get off their high horses around here. This is clearly not a black and white issue, so please stop acting like it's one.
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 04:35 PM) Okay, just for argument, compare Courtney Hawkins to all the white players he's SO similar to... Remember, they also should be able to do back-flips or the comp is not valid. Probably the reason those names were mentioned is because they ended up as utility guys or non-starters at the big league level or just never made it, as was the case with Shelby, who a lot of minor league followers liked because of his perceived versatility. If you compare African-American players to all white players, everyone will say you're being ridiculous or too PC. I thought we already had this same exact argument last year, did we not? How many times do Hispanic middle infielders get compared to white players? How many times do white NBA basketball players get compared to Larry Bird, John Stockton, Steve Nash, etc.? But the three comps you used were all incredibly different types of players with different types of tools. It would basically be like comparing an OF prospect to all three of Hawkins, Walker, & Short. Would that make any sense?
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 04:38 PM) The problem is that none of them have any value on the trade market, unless there's a huge market for Jake Peavy nobody knows about. I think everyone in baseball is waiting to see if he'll rebound from the 2nd half of 2012 and look like the same guy he was in the first half. Quintana, Axelrod and Danks, no way. Floyd...marginal prospect. That leaves Sale, who's not going anywhere, and Santiago, who probably will end up realizing his potential with another organization should they actually go ahead and trade him. You don't think Peavy has a ton of value??
