Getz’s entire sales pitch to the media was “we will play better defense” and then proceeds to play a massive 1B in the OF 35% of the time.

Getz wasting 40 OF starts on Gavin Sheets after he traded a top 10 prospect for a 26 year old OF and a talented, controllable reliever for a 25 year old OF (both of whom had full seasons at AAA) is quite something.

MLB doesn’t update their lists very often (if at all).

There is no chance whatsoever that the Sox pick up Eloy’s option for next year, so dumping for anything (including padding Jerry’s bank account) is an absolute no-brainer.

The prior regime should be ripped for many things, but Tanner Banks around forever and were able to transform him from a low stuff org guy to an actual major league reliever.

Which is shocking as his peripherals are good and he’s been one of the more dominant relievers since Jun 1st, yesterday not withstanding but at least he can alcohol to blame for that. Someone should be willing to give up a lottery ticket.

Getz can’t handle multiple trades at once though and you got to think he’s still discussing Crochet to some extent. Prove me wrong Getz!
