What a fucking s%*# show. This team could give two fucks about winning tonight. Grifol should be fired mid-game for the lack of heart & effort.

Nothing this guy says has any meaning. All he says is what he thinks his bosses want to hear. I’ve worked with so many guys like this chump and I can’t wait to never see that smug face again.

I don’t disagree at all…I’m just at the point where Click + Getz sounds better than Getz + Moore if those are many options

Maybe I’m in the bargaining phase, but I think I could live with Getz if the Sox brought a legit President of Baseball Ops in like Click. But Getz as the primary decision maker is sickening and I want nothing to do with Moore.

Yup, it feels like it will be a guy he knows or someone highly recommended to him by a person he trusts (cough Tony). Stealing a promising young GM from another organization doesn’t seem to be his playbook unfortunately.

Tom is 100% Getz.

He got screwed some in terms of La Russa and maybe with the larger scale free agent signings, but the reality is he never built a sound foundation in scouting, player development, & analytics and he wasted millions in free agency on s%*# free agents. He was a terrible GM regardless of the challenges that come with Jerry & KW.

Pedro is such a fucking tool. If they keep this guy another season, then we deserve to lose 100 games next year as well. He is simply not a leader of men and the players do not take him seriously in the clubhouse.

Whether or not it’s Getz (plus Moore), there is no way Jerry doesn’t have a guy in mind. I think we’ll have before mid September. Whatever “process” there is will be highly compromised by preliminary discussions Jerry has had with someone regarding the role.

He’ll land somewhere else in some capacity I’m sure, but I can’t imagine him ever being a GM ever again.

Yup, Hahn’s media campaign is out in full force. Dude accomplished nothing in 11 years, but somehow he was the victim of a messy leadership trio for his entire tenure. Not sure why people are buying it.

Absolutely pathetic if this happens. We are failing because we are so insular and we’re now going to hand the keys of the ship to an internal guy? Our player development has been bad under Getz and that won’t change with him elevated? About the only outcome I could come up with that doesn’t actually move the needle forward.

Ken Rosenthal also questions whether Jerry would hire an up-&-coming guy to be the head of baseball ops. Thinks a guy with experience is more likely and specifically threw out Moore, Jon Daniels, Michael Hill, and Zack Scott (since his DUI charge got turned into a “driving while ability impaired” lol). While all those names suck, he Al’s acknowledged would be a highly interesting job and called the franchise a potential “sleeping giant”. If Jerry can wake the f*** up (or sell the team), that’s so very true. Just need a legit good hire here, whether a veteran or a current GM type.

Just for discussion purposes, here is a random list of “the top 10 GMs” from 2010. Just trying to see if there is a veteran GM candidate that Jerry’s inner circle could be pushing him toward. I’m going to cross out anyone that is currently the head of baseball ops regardless of title. John Mozeliak Brian Sabean Billy Beane Brian Cashman Dave Dobrowksi Ben Cherington Mike Rizzo Dan Duquette Neal Huntington Dayton Moore Bruce has already mentioned Moore as an option (let’s hope not). Chuck threw out Dan Duquette as a theoretical option. But when I look at this list and think of a guy Jerry would immediately hire it’s Brian Sabean. Guy is only 67 years old and apparently is as “invigorated” as he has been in years. Currently a special adviser for the Yankees, so very much available. Honestly, I’d be pretty shocked if he’s not the guy Jerry has in mind assuming there is such a guy.

That’s exactly what I’d be assuming. But if we’re talking about a President or SVP of Baseball Ops type role, then there is no internal option. Perhaps Getz is an option for a 2nd in command “GM” role, but no way he can be the head decision maker of the organization unless we plan to go completely backwards.

Good call on this…Boston’s days as the clubhouse snitch will certainly come the off-season.

I also wonder what this means for Kenny Williams Jr. Will years of nepotism finally run its course in this org?

I’m hoping the fact that Haber put together an encyclopedia on Grifol and they still hired him is proof clear he’s not capable of leading a Major League Baseball org.

Click would be interesting. The Moore idea is terrifying to me and I pray it not a real option. I really don’t see Getz being bumped up to replace KW. Had Rick been the sole sacrificial lamb then I could have seen Getz as GM under Kenny, but he can’t be the head baseball decision maker for this org.

Can we all agree that Dayton Moore as President of Baseball Ops, Chris Getz as GM, and Buddy Bell as manager is the ultimate nightmare scenario?
