It’s wild people continue to float this idea. As soon as Jerry is gone, the Sox will finally awaken. No sane person is leaving the third largest market in hopes of some mid-sized market offering green pastures.

His parents?

I think you’re missing the point, which is that our CF doesn’t know the name of our bench coach. Nitpicking who’s at fault doesn’t really matter here. These guys should be interacting all the time. It’s beyond fucking nuts that this is even possible.

You know things have gone off the rails and Merkin has completely run out of fluff by late April and report a fact this grim.

“We will communicate” - Update on this. Robert had some tight hammies today, but didn’t feel like communicating to the coaching or training staff and instead decided to just half ass it. Even more concerning, Charlie Montoya has apparently never communicated his name to Robert.

2023-24 NFL Season Thread
Chicago White Sox replied to CentralChamps21's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
What pics are you referring to? -
These were the big points of emphasis during Pedro’s opening press conference: “We will communicate” “We will be fundamentally sound” “We will play with passion and pride for this uniform. This means something.” “We will respect the game, our fans, and earn their trust” “We will control the strike zone on both sides of the ball…” “We will work hard and play winning baseball every night and definitely will hold each other accountable.” How do you feel he’s holding up to his end of the bargain? The “control both sides of the strike zone” comment is comical at this point given just how poorly we rank in both drawing and issuing walks. The “play winning baseball every night” obviously doesn’t resonate well amidst a nine game losing streak. I would like to hear everyone’s thoughts on the other focus areas. Do these guys appear to be playing hard? Are they communicating better? Are the fundamentals finally there? I haven’t been able to watch much this past week due to work, but that Sosa miscue last night was brutal and makes question what this staff is even doing. At this point, it’s hard to separate the rot of a broken organization from the coaching staff and the players. Just curious if people feel Grifol is part of the problem or rather a victim of everything else.

They also got the 26th pick of the 2016 draft. The problem is they took a relief prospect instead of a potential impact talent.

Very true, but I must try regardless or who else will I share my suffering with?

I know, it’s a legit conundrum. But my plan would be to fire Hahn in May and then re-prioritize the remaining staff to focus entirely on scouting minor league talent across a specific set of contenders. As much as that scares me, I don’t see another option when it comes to Tim & Liam.

Hire Mike Chernoff as President of Baseball Ops and he’ll find a guy.

Cease would 100% return the most if we decided to move him and then Tim. It’s hard to say without knowing what Liam looks like when he comes back. What’s very clear to me is the Sox need to bold at the deadline. We 100% have to trade Tim & Liam now vs. waiting until the off-season. They are inherently more valuable to two playoff runs and the return will reflect that. I don’t think I’d have this front office trade Cease as his value should more or less carry into the off-season. Let the new front office (hopefully) do an auction process to a larger pool of potential buyers. And my god is thinking through this stuff in April super depressing. My oldest son was finally getting into the team/sport and he’s 100% going to turn into a Cubs fan now because they aren’t a complete bunch of losers from to bottom like this s%*# show of an organization. I truly hate Rick Hahn with all my heart.
