  1. Daily reminder that Hahn’s first call post lockout ending warranted an obnoxious, baiting smirk. And I’m very confident it wasn’t for Kelly or Harrison. Panic if you must, but dealing with Boras takes time.
  2. Yeah, why try to get better after a first round humiliation. Thanks for expert analysis Steve!
  3. I have no problem with someone using baseballtradevalues as a reference point, the issue is you using it as the end all because they’re “independent”. Their prospect valuations are bad and they routinely have issues similar to the Moncada one, which you fought tirelessly against for a period of time. But hey, keep taking cheap shots because you don’t like people critiquing a website you like.
  4. Do you have an equity stake in the site? Don’t know why you take rips against it personally.
  5. He doesn’t work for the company anymore FYI
  6. I’m not sure how this prevents us from adding another starter. This is probably a $2M signing that sends Burr to AAA to start the year.
  7. If the Dodgers get Cruz & Freeman then the game is truly broken
  8. Isn’t Peguero going to the Twins? FWIW, I would trade Kelley in heartbeat for Gray.
  9. Gray was never a true rental though…would have loved to acquire him for Kath+
  10. Either La Russa has gone blind or he’s helping Hahn negotiate via the media.
  11. I think he’d be tough to acquire. Sonny Gray is still a name I could see happening. The Sox have liked him for a while now and the Reds appear to be open to moving him. Whether we can match up remains to be seen.
  12. I mean, we do have a glut of corner guys and in a theoretical world we’d move one of them to fill other needs. I definitely wouldn’t give up Eloy though as we saw what he’s capable of when healthly in 2020 and it’s something truly special.
  13. ~$20M for a left-handed bat and ~$10M for a starting pitcher.
  14. Dye wasn’t nearly as bad in 2005 as he was in later years, but regardless, having two shitty corner OFs would really hurt us. Robert’s range can help mitigate our challenges in LF, but he’s going to be overexposed if flanked by two poor defenders.
  15. For what? I don’t want these guys getting cute and thinking they’re going to pull off a Carlos Lee 2.0 trade. Eloy has a chance to be a top 5 hitter in the league and we’d be selling super low by moving him right now.
  16. The other concern with Madrigal was his clubhouse fit. There are rumors that he’s a bit of an oddball and rubbed some guys the wrong way. Harrison should be a big upgrade and is also likely a defensive improvement to some degree. Just sucks we’re paying $5M more for a guy who is massive downgrade offensively.
