  1. Exactly. The Mets aren’t some small market team and they weren’t the incumbent. They did not deserve a right to match and shouldn’t have banked on one if they really wanted Matz.
  2. Fake Twitter insiders really pushing this Kimbrel for Segura narrative pretty hard. I really don’t see that happening unless they’ve added a left-handed RF already. If the Sox trade Kimbrel as their next move, I’d assume it’s for prospects and role players (lesser reliever, backup catcher, etc) and not a guy like Segura who will limit their flexibility going forward.
  3. Dude is almost certainly a fraud, but I think he’s right on our interest in Conforto.
  4. For the people skeptical of Graveman, a couple things worth pointing out: The velocity of his sinker has jumped up ~3 MPH as a reliever He’s completely removed his cutter as @bmags alluded to He’s throwing a much different slider now (7 to 8 MPH harder) He’s utilizing this new, harder slider significantly more now He’s generating far more whiffs with this new, harder slider This harder slider has enhanced the value of his 96 MPH sinker To see just how nasty this sinker/slider combo is, take a look at the video below: Honestly, it’s pretty clear he’s a different pitcher now and I think he’s here to stay, even if there is going to be some regression on the ERA side of things.
  5. This is mostly true on the MLBTR side of things, although DeSclafani & Graveman in below expectations in terms of AAV.
  6. Severino & Sousa are also on the 40 man roster and we’re prioritized over Jace Fry for whatever that’s worth.
  7. Wow, he blew MLBTR’s 3/$27M projection out of the water.
  8. Who is the better fit for this offense? Segura or Escobar? IMO, Escobar would be the much more valuable 9th hitter in the lineup than the guy who further compounds our groundball problems. Segura is a nice player and the K rate is good, but he’s not worth $14.5M given this team’s specific needs. Just sign Escobar for $10M/year and reallocate the extra $4.5M elsewhere. Trading Kimbrel for Segura would be Hahn trying to save face IMO.
  9. You’re ok blowing $14.5M on a right-handed groundball pummeling 2B?
  10. Segura has a 52.1% groundball rate and .146 ISO. Escobar has a 31.5% groundball rate and .219 ISO. I wonder which is the better fit for our offense? ?

  12. Those names probably aren’t target. I’ll maintain Conforto & Gausman are the two guys they are pursuing.
  13. Yup, I still don’t think Bob is leaking the right names though. But at least Hahn read through the Graveman thread and was like “I guess I better have Bob leak some plans to shut those whiney fucks up”.
  14. This guy knows jack shit and has been throwing some BS around. Tried to say we were close on Conforto and then quickly backpedaled. He might be Orlando if I had to guess.
  15. Hendriks, Bummer, Graveman, & Crochet should be an excellent back end of a bullpen. We still need to add at least one more solid RH reliever, but that need becomes much less pressing with the RH setup role now filled. And it would have been super dangerous to wait until after the lockout to start addressing, so really glad they didn’t dick around.
  16. And the best part is the Sox will likely add a few cheap, potential breakout relievers to round out the pen. But no contender goes into a season and banks on a bunch of unproven guys are hitting. It’s absolute insanity and the people bitching Graveman now would be ripping Hahn to shreds come July.
  17. And you apparently hate all veterans and dislike filling major holes while trying to compete.
  18. Lol…you’d be bitching about their shit bullpen come July when all their unproven guys flop again next year. And then you’d b**** about having to overpay for quality relievers at the deadline. It’s an endless cycle with you guys…rinse repeat year after year.
