The TLR Manager Thread
That’s a good question...you figured Tony would be napping in the dugout by this point in the game rather than fun policing his own team.

100% agree with this. I fundamentally disagree with the “unwritten baseball rules” and that you can’t swing when you’re way up, but Mercedes should at least follow signs if given. That being said, airing this out publicly is stupid and shows just how bad of a fit La Russa is for this club.

How to Crush the AL, Rick Hahn...creating a true superteam
I was expecting something awesome like go get Bryce Harper, and instead the plan is trade for a starter who isn’t materially better than what we currently have in Gray, call-up a minor league reliever who hasn’t been good since 2017, and acquire the rights to a non-baseball player. Your a good dude Caulfield, but maybe just go watch Millionaire Dollar Arm instead of making up your own nonsensical Disney movie.

And that's a 16-4 White Sox winner!
It’s May 17th and the Twins are already 11.5 games behind us. Hopefully it’s 13.5 by the end of the series with our theoretical top two arms on the mound these next two games.

Madrigal.
It proves he’s capable of clearing the fences which detractors didn’t believe was possible, but other than that you’re correct.

The good news is that when the haters come out, so does Nicky’s power

5/17 White Sox (Keuchel) v. Twins (Happ) Thread
It’s practically an automatic loss for the opposing team...honestly a bullpen day would give them a better chance to win

Oh shit, that’s actually great news.

Should be some coming, but damn it sucks having Leury’s cold-ass bat in the two hole.

He’s a terrible offensive player no matter how cool that 4/4 game was. I get we have no choice but to start him some, but there’s got to be better balance. Giving Mendick a start against a lefty made way more sense. All that being said, I’m sure Billy will hit a HR later tonight.

This isn’t meant to be hind-sight based, but I just don’t get this lineup. Why not Mendick in RF and Grandal at C? Is Zack Rodon’s personal catcher now? Also, I really hate the overuse of Hamilton.

Because you don’t tell your boss what to do

A rusty gate would be better than what Leury & Hamilton are going to provide.

Do something here Timmy

We can’t get Engel back soon enough, starting both Leury & Hamilton is not going to work in the long-run.

Plus we should never give up with a lefty on the mound.

Didn’t really look like a slow turn to me, I don’t think most 2Bs turn that.

2020 NBA Regular Season Thread
Looks like a ~26% chance if the standings end up as is. Would be massive if they could get lucky in the lottery for once since Rose.

Giolito's slow start
Lucas’s horizontal release point is noticeably different vs last year, coming out what looks like a good 8 inches glove side. His 4 seamer location is also vastly different than last year, with nearly 6% more of his pitches coming in below the zone and nearly 6% less of his pitches coming in his typical sweet-spot above the zone. To me, it feels like his mechanics are a bit out of whack and it’s hurting his command some. The slider has also been a mess this year, but that’s a different story.

Lol...that’s probably a good call.

It’s all good brother, you had an awesome win streak, but yes typically someone else takes game thread responsibilities after a loss.

I see Tony is hoping for a sweep tonight

Nothing against @South Side Hit Men, but shouldn’t someone else be starting this thread given we lost game 1? Not sure if double-headers have special rules, but I wouldn’t temp the baseball gods after a game 1 that included a shitty Giotilo performance, a Nicky Two K’s game, and an injury to MVPito.
