That’s my point. For what Jesse said to be true, the Sox either implicitly told other teams’ their financial plans for the offseason or these teams are inferring it based on conversations they’ e had. The former would be incredibly stupid on our part while the latter would be unreliable and either way I’m not buying it.

To be fair, that’s only starting pitchers and it’s very possible most teams see a need tor extra starters next year coming off a pandemic ridden season. I think we’ll see position players and relievers get much less than usual. -
If we don’t add Springer, we’re probably looking at a platoon whether our RF addition is Joc, JBJ, or Rosario. And Engel should be nothing but the weak side of said platoon as his bat against RHP is unlikely to ever play up.
