I’m not arguing that Boozer was a good free agent signing or that GarPax did well in free agency in general, but rather that Boozer isn’t proof of a Reinsdorf run organization going cheap. They wanted to sign two of the big three that offseason and whiffed, which resulted in them pivoting to a still very expensive Boozer.

Boozer was 100% a free agent signing and if you are arguing otherwise you simply don’t understand how the NBA works.

Longenhagen based on his ranking on one set of appearances and Cespedes didn’t perform well then. Additionally, the kid has transformed his body and swing since leaving Cuba, so some evaluators believe he has vastly more potential than the previous consensus. There is a reason to get hyped behind Yoelqui.

Should be the best in baseball with interesting arms in AAA waiting in the wings.

I personally think he’d be a decent add. Given the injury histories of Eloy & Eaton, I think having another corner OF type on the cheap makes some sense, even if his defensive prowess has greatly diminished since his peak days. Also, it provides us some Vaughn instance as well.

I’m really excited about Yoelqui and think he might surprise people in RF. Hopefully he hits the ground running as it would be great to have another OF option heading into the offseason.

Alright guys, this thread will serve a dual purpose. First, there are some rumors the Sox are in the mix for Yoenis. How would you feel about adding him to the OF/DH mix? Second, Al’s Beefy is pushing the narrative that Yoelqui will move fast and is expected to be the starting RF next year. Do you guys buy that?

Outside of the insane physical tools, it sounds like Robert is a very data oriented guy and I think that will help him greatly with his plate discipline as he moves forward. I think his floor is a 5 win player (he was nearly on pace for this last year as a rookie and league average hitter) and his ceiling is best player in baseball. Ultimately, I see Robert plateauing in the 7 to 8 win range with a couple seasons potentially exceeding that if everything clicks.

Not sending Vaughn to the alternate site for two weeks is completely irresponsible if you’re running this franchise. That being said, just extend the kid and make this a moot point.
