  1. I have a feeling we’re all going to feel real shitty at the All-Star break when we could of had Joe Musgrove and instead got a fat Yogurt Sanchez plus the buy-outs for Nate Jones & Welington Castillo paid for by the Rangers.
  2. How are you watching?
  3. Oh trust me, I love the discussion, just becoming a bit annoyed with the dude as he claimed he wasn’t in it for the attention and then literally spends hours on end talking about the haters and bragging about everything he had first. This time he didn’t have it first if it does materialize.
  4. If they trade A-Rob then they really need to add two legit WRs IMO. I love Mooney but I don’t ever see him becoming a #1 WR. This draft is loaded though so we should be able to land a decent one in the 2nd or 3rd if we hold onto those picks.
  5. Apparently based on this tweet. Al’s is the king of the tweet & delete but then acknowledges it for some odd reason. Also, not trying to doubt his connections, but if an extension gets announced this week with Vaughn, it’s Harold and not Al’s Beef who deserves the credit. Al’s been money on a lot of things this offseason, but he has been doubting a Vaughn extension for most of the offseason.
  6. To be honest I couldn’t connect the dots, but figured it was somehow related to the Vaughn extension tweet.
  7. Perhaps related? Bears obviously need another WR, especially if they plan to cut bait in Miller.
  8. Looks like Al’s Beef has finally read through this thread:
  9. This post is completely absurd. Keuchel had a 1.99 ERA and was one of only two good starters on the team last year. Grandal was basically the player everyone expected and can actually catch despite what all the McStanns say. I get you hate LaRussa with a passion, but Lance Lynn is a high end pitcher and the Sox wanted him before LaRussa entered the fold. This idea that we can somehow avoid veterans is pure nonsense, it’s simply a part of doing business.
  10. I can’t see any way Newman goes in the 1st, but he’s definitely an intriguing developmental guy if you can land him in the late 2nd / early 3rd.
  11. All fair points but there are still semi interesting QB prospects who will go in the 2nd & 3rd and I just feel like enough teams pursue the high end EDGE rushers, tackles, & CBs before settling on a B tier QB prospect and push one of Mac Jones or Trey Lance down to around 15.
  12. The last time five QBs went anywhere close to the top ten was in 1999 and that was with Cade McNown being taken by us 12th overall. Five QBs went in the 1st in 2018, with four in the top 10 and Lamar Jackson taken 32nd overall. Point is it’s really rare to have this deep of a QB class plus have enough teams willing to spend a high 1st on a QB. I still think one of Mac Jones or Trey Lance slips to the middle of the 1st round and the Bears at 20 will be in prime position to make a trade to land said player.
  13. Do we really think five QBs go into the top 10 though? I really think one slips to around 15 and that’s an area we can get to without trading a crazy amount of assets.
  14. I’d like to but it seems like they see his innings being super limited this year and figure not to waste them in the minors. Next year’s workload should hopefully be closer to normal starter level.
  15. The payroll isn’t sticking at $125M, it will certainty shoot up $150M in the next year or so. And what else are we spending our money on? If Cespedes ends up being the the answer in RF (obviously remains to be seen), then the only real spot to invest in is the rotation. Give a me a rotation of Giolito, Lynn, Kopech, Cease, & Keuchel in 2022 with Crochet being stretched out in AAA to start the year. That could be an insane rotation to go along with an insane lineup and insane bullpen.
  16. I could live with Williams plus a Dalton / Jones combo at QB if the Seahawks are unwilling to trade Wilson, but damn would that be risky if you are Pace & Nagy.
  17. What’s your issue with a Lynn extension? Dude has been excellent the last two years and is looking at one last payday. Your best chance to get him at an affordable rate is right now. I’d definitely love something like 2/$40M that locks him up through the 2023 season.
  18. Adding Dalton and then trading for Wilson would be a terrible use of limited financial resources, so if Dalton does end up being our veteran addition I’m very confident they’ll be trading up to land a QB in the draft and probably Mac Jones.
  19. I am probably the biggest Collins Truther on the board, but it really seems like Vaughn is destined for the opening day DH role, especially if Harold’s eyeballs is implying him agreeing to an extension (which is just me speculating). I still wish they’d give Zack a shot as the primary backup catcher / part-time backup 1B/DH and exclusively use him against RHP, as I think it’s a role he’d be highly if given the opportunity.
