I feel like we’ll be signing a B tier OF sometime this week and this story is just our front office reestablishing expectations with the fanbase. That being said, saying Jerry Reinsdorf doesn’t “pay nine figures for anyone” in the year 2020 is one of the most pathetic statements I have heard in regard to a sports owner in my lifetime as a fan. A $100M contract is nothing crazy in this day and age and acting like it is fucking ridiculous.

In a 60 game sample, I hope we’re not the team buying into that.

When I say top prospects, I mean guys that the major publications (BA, BP, FG, Pipeline) consider to be top 100 prospects. In all honesty, I feel like we’ve traded very few. The only guys I can come up since we last won the World Series are Frankie Montas, Erik Johnson, Addison Reed, Gio Gonzalez, & Ryan Sweeney. That’s pretty much nothing in a 15 year period.

What top prospects have they traded in all honesty?

They aren’t trading Crochet, he’s probably more untouchable than Vaughn or Kopech.

If you think he’s going to fall off a cliff for some reason that’s fine, but he’s been a premier pitcher for the last 2 1/2 seasons.

On a one year deal it’s fine, but I wouldn’t go multi-year with him in this environment

Seriously, James has taken plenty of shots at Jerry, the front office, the coaching staff, and the players. Accusing him of “carrying water” or whatever the phrase is laughable.

He’s a premier pitcher whether you like it or not and he’s wayyyyyyyyyyyyy better than Tanaka
