  1. I don’t know how it would work financially, but Wilson + Williams would be insanity in a good way.
  2. There was definitely a salary dumping component to the trade that reduced the return. What’s truly sad is we almost ended up Luzardo+ for just Robertson and certainly could have gotten something nice if we dealt Kahnle alone.
  3. To be fair, Rutherford was already trending in the wrong direction at the time as publications are always behind what actual scouts think. That beijf said, he had recently been highly regarded and he was a good gamble to roll the dice on. Unfortunately it just didn’t work for us.
  4. I’m pretty confident the Sox go with 13 pitchers, so adding Collins requires a position player to go and most informed sources are suggesting Lucroy is a lock which only leaves Mendick as the odd man out. Of course that‘s assuming Vaughn is the opening day DH and obviously service time manipulation is still possibility there.
  5. Fully agree. To be honest, I’m still more upset about the secondary pieces being so lackluster at the time of the trade than what’s transpired with Rutherford because he was simply a gamble that didn’t work out. I never had much faith in Clarkin or Tito whatever the fuck his name was.
  6. Rutherford will likely start this year in AAA ?‍♂️
  7. Not really, but nothing happening today really changes that opinion. He’s simply too much of a tweener with an over-rated hit tool IMO.
  8. Man I need some real action and not anymore hot takes based on meaningless spring training results.
  9. I would love this outcome for us. Taking a prep positional player is definitely what we should do, all else being equal.
  10. Biggs is suggesting one possibility would be Wilson to Bears for a boatload of assets and then the Seahawks trading something like an early 2nd for Darnold. Definitely makes some sense if the relationship with Wilson is truly repair, especially given the lack of draft capital the Seahawks have right now.
  11. And the Seahawks wouldn’t just be giving him away. Pace will have to offer a ton to convince Schneider to offload Wilson, but the reality is Pace is incredibly desperate and will probably do just that. And if the Seahawks like someone like Mac Jones, the 20th pick is a decent enough asset to give you the flexibility to go get him. Yes, the Seahawks would be rebuilding to an extent, but Jones could be ready pretty fast and they’d have additional assets on top of him to build around.
  12. I think Cordero has an option left.
  13. Question for the board, but how much is too much for Wilson? I’d do three firsts in a heartbeat, but including someone like Roquan on top of that seems like it would be real painful. Not saying I would or wouldn’t do such a trade, just seems like removing a pivotal defensive player on top of all that draft capital would make building a championship caliber roster a challenge.
  14. I’m pretty sure Michael Reinsdorf was friends with Gar and not Jerry.
  15. I don’t think this is true at all.
  16. Yeah, I can live with all the lameness that embodies Russell Wilson if it means high end QB for the first time of my life!
  17. Feels like this is going to happen. And if it does, it’s going to be as exciting as fuck to finally have a real QB in Chicago.
  18. Where are you seeing those velocity numbers?
  19. It ain’t over yet! Team Cy Lopez 4 Life!
  20. I think it should be pretty clear to everyone that the front office was eager to pull the Cooper plug in hopes of fixing and/or further developing their young pitchers. I appreciate all Coop did over the years, but it was fucking time for a change and I think we see some quick wins this year due to how out of touch Don was with modern pitching. Hopefully Cy Lopez will be proof of that!
