Hector wrong. Again. - Cruz back with Min
They are literally gambling an entire season on Katz being our savior with all these young arms instead of spending a measly $6M or so to bring in another starter? It’s beyond mind-boggling.
-
Hector wrong. Again. - Cruz back with Min
Remember that one season where they wasted like $25M on Alonso, Jay, & Herrera? That would have been enough for Paxton & Schwarber on one year deals right about now.

Do you realize how bad Lopez was last year?

Hector wrong. Again. - Cruz back with Min
So some fun facts about our rotation now that it’s final per Stone: Cease will be our #4 starter and is coming off a 6.36 FIP season where he ranked in the bottom 5th percentile for xwOBA Lopez will be our #5 starter to open the season and is coming off a 7.63 FIP year where he ranked in the bottom 13th percentile for xwOBA Kopech will be our #6 starter and has not pitched in a professional game in 875 days and will be on a strict innings limit Stiever will be our #7 starter and has a total of 6.1 innings above A+ in which he put up a 12.35 FIP while showing underwhelming stuff What could go wrong here?

Jerry Reinsdorf is cheap
It’s down YoY if you ignore last year’s proration

No doubt, just need the current owner to exit
-
Jerry Reinsdorf is cheap
At bare minimum, the Sox won’t be moving before their lease is up in 2029.
-

I’d definitely love him as the figurehead of a potential ownership group.
-
Jerry Reinsdorf is cheap
The league would never let the Sox leave at this point and they could care less about cross branding with an NFL team.

Hector wrong. Again. - Cruz back with Min
How about some local billionaire who actually cares about the city and team? That’s all I need.

Jerry Reinsdorf is cheap
Cubs fan can watch Sox games and vice versa, so the potential is always there. And I guarantee that if a new owner came in and spent a little money, we could steal a huge portion of the causal fanbase.

Jerry Reinsdorf is cheap
Really wish there was SoxFest this year so fans could go to town on Jerry & the front office.
-
Jerry Reinsdorf is cheap
That was decades ago and no one is leaving the potential of a top three market.
-
Jerry Reinsdorf is cheap
The worst part is Jerry is only 84, knowing our luck we’ll be stuck with him for 16 more years.
-
Jerry Reinsdorf is cheap
No offense, be this is just stupid. No one is leaving Chicago for Montreal or Portland and the MLB would never allow it.

I’m pretty sure the Sox have fed Nightengale plenty of garbage in the past, but this time it does feel legit.
-

What exactly is Beef suggesting here?
-
Jerry Reinsdorf is cheap
Honestly, it’s so hard being a Sox fan because I’d love nothing more than for Jerry to never see another playoff team in his lifetime, but obviously not at the expense of the players and is Sox fans. Just sucks having such a shitty owner atop the organization you love.
-
Hector wrong. Again. - Cruz back with Min
And acting like $54M over four years is this massive number is beyond laughable. I’m fucking appalled at guys like Nightengale & Sullivan carrying the water for this cheap fuck.
-
Hector wrong. Again. - Cruz back with Min
And there it is...I can’t wait for the day Jerry is long gone.
-

100% agree.
-

Pretty ridiculous if true, but par for the course.

Where did you come up with that $25M? I’m sure their bear writer speculated much less.
