  1. I mean, they should just start him in AA and that would solve the issue, but it doesn’t like that will be the case.
  2. When do we regain the extra year of control with Kopech?
  3. Last season he would have earned a $10M pro-rated salary, but again, you guys can keep ignoring the fact that he’s fully recovered from TJS and may have fixed his elbow issues for good.
  4. If healthy it should be 1) Giolito, 2) Lynn, 3) Keuchel, 4) Cease, & 5) Kopech.
  5. Jerry is going to waste this window isn’t he. This year it will be COVID, next year it will be the CBA. JFC, I’m turning into Jack Parkman.
  6. Fuck...would have done that in a heartbeat. Can’t wait to see what garbage starter we end up with. Might as well resign Gio Gonzalez or just burn $5M in a dumpster, because we’re likely getting trash. Fucking cheap ass Reinsdorf.
  7. I was thinking that might be the case, but glad someone confirmed it. There better be more coming or I hope he gets ridiculed and not celebrated by clowns like Sullivan.
  8. Harold has a pretty good grasp on things and I’d definitely believe him when he says they’ve been shopping him.
  9. His stuff has regressed over the years with his 4 seamer now sitting below 89 MPH and basically abandoning his sinker (and above average ground ball rate) for more 4 seamers & cutters. Not the end all be all, but his xERA per Statcast in 2019 was 5.69. The only thing the guy does that good is not walk anyone and I guess potentially eat innings. He is a guy who’s probably on the brink of being destroyed by the league and I want zero part of him.
  10. Kopech as a reliever now? Gross all around.
  11. It really is terrifying. Are we even above last year’s payroll right now? Like how did we get stuck with this cheap fuck for our entire lifetime’s as Sox fans?
  12. Mike Leake would be an absolute abomination of a signing. He is literally one of the worst starters when it comes to Statcast numbers and basically strikes no one out. How anyone would prefer him over Richards is mind boggling to me.
  13. Anxiously waiting to see the terms of a deal out of our budget. I’ll be far less annoyed if Garrett gets two years.
  14. After passing on Quintana at $8M and hearing some talk that Garrett Richards might be out of their price range, it’s time to bump this thread. Lynn & Hendriks were nice additions, but the Sox can’t afford to stop adding now, especially in the starting pitching department. We’re going to find out soon enough if Jerry actually cares about winning, because if this is the roster we end up going to war with it’s clear his primary concern is will always be the bottom line.
  15. Never once have I said we should pencil him in for a full season, but meanwhile you’ve already declared he won’t make it past 2/6 of the season (despite him pitching more than that last year and being completely healthy).
  16. Lol...so Richards who literally was healthy in a season over 2/6 in normal length suddenly is all but certain to get injured over a slightly lesser duration and somehow Kopech has imploded into nothingness making Lopez our only option. Meanwhile 39 year old Wainwright is somehow a lock to stay healthy for a full season.
  17. I know I’m one of the few who wants Richards, but it’s going to be immensely disappointing when he signs elsewhere because of Jerry’s cheapness.
  18. You can’t give Cruz two years unfortunately
