We literally had negative production out of RF & DH spots last year and Hahn still couldn’t find a way to get positive production. I don’t blame him for the Edwin signing, but regardless it is an impressive feat.

This an example where people who say lineup construction doesn’t really matter over the course of a full season don’t understand context and the fact that our win probability changes significantly with just one run there. I agree the time for an outside change was a few weeks ago, but I don’t see how you can possibly rock this version of Mazara out in RF come the playoffs. Engel’s glove alone is providing more value than Nomar in his current state. Is Leury’s season completely over or is there a chance he could be ready come the playoffs, because that might actually be an option.

Cause exposing a rookie coming off a poor AA season and who is not a high end talent to an intense pennant race doesn’t seem like a better idea then just adding a plus defender in Engel.

Come game 1 of the playoffs, until then you got to hope it clicks at some point. We literally don’t have another option.

Dyson would literally be the worst hitter in baseball if given the opportunity, at least there is theoretical upside with Mazara. And if you make a change you just go with Engel in RF.
