NFL Thread 2019-2020
Chicago White Sox replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Alright @Moan4Yoan, I was able to get rid of Parkman, what kind of bet will it take to get rid of you? How about O/U on Trubisky TDs tonight at one? If he throws two or more, you’re banned from this thread until the bye week, if he throw zero I’m out until then. One TD and we both survive. Sound good? -
I think this offseason will be the real test. If they go and add someone like Mazara then it’s clear they’re the same old White Sox.
-
I’ve been complaining about this in the gamethreads for about a week now. Honestly, we desperately need to add a couple high OBP guys to the mix this coming offseason. I apologize for repeating it, but my dream would be signing Grandal and then trading for Nimmo. That would allow us to rock something like this by May: Tim Anderson, SS Yoan Moncada, 3B# Eloy Jimenez, LF Yasmani Grandal, C# Jose Abreu, 1B Brandon Nimmo, RF* Luis Robert, CF Zack Collins, DH* Nick Madrigal, 2B That’s a vastly better lineup and one that should score a ton of runs.

Lol...I’m enjoying every second of it. I’m from the North Side and most of my friends are Cubs fans plus my wife is a diehard as well. They have all given up and a few are pushing for a rebuild. The timing couldn’t be better with my oldest kid being five and hopefully just starting to get into sports. Please rebuild away Cubs and let the Sox own Chicago for the next half decade.

9/22/2019 White Sox v. Tigers

Why would Pittsburgh do that though? -
If Pittsburgh were to fire Huntington, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the GM come in and blow things up a bit. And honestly, they’d probably give away Polanco for a song. For me, I’d rather roll the dice on him than Mazara.

I don’t mean for Lopez, I mean we need to aim higher for RF. Mazara isn’t good and while there may be some untapped potential there, he isn’t a great fit for what we need. -

Another game with a ton of K’s and few BB’s. Sign Grandal and trade for Nimmo and you suddenly have a balanced and extremely versatile lineup next year. -

I’d hate that, we need to aim higher than Mazara. -

I just don’t think Cooper will be the guy to unlock Lopez’s potential. I think an org the Astros would quickly turn him into a solid #3 type. -

Do you mean two starters? They’re obviously going to add at least one guy this offseason. Adding two would be prudent as Lopez should probably move the pen long-term. -
These are the moments I’m glad I left Illinois. I’ll always love Chicago and may come back one day, but my god Illinois is a broken mess.

You need to be far more proactive and use a trade value chart in the future at least as a point of reference: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbssports.com/fantasy/football/news/fantasy-football-week-3-trade-values-chart-rest-of-season-rankings/amp/ That Cook trade was so ridiculously in your favor you should have never given this clown a second to reconsider.

I’d be pretty pissed as Mazara hasn’t been good, only has two years of control left (with Boras as his agent), and doesn’t address our OBP problem.

And Moncada sucked vs them last year, but hey winning a meaningless game in September is important than trying to develop our young talent. -
That was me, but unfortunately Greg put me on block for calling him a troll too many times so I’ll never actually get a response.
-
Definitely should have been, but Theo hasn’t gotten a great return on all the prospects he’s dealt and was unable to develop any starting pitching. This run is quickly ending barring the Ricketts suddenly spending like Hal Steinbrenner.

My wife literally just kicked me out of the house for laughing.
-
Wow, Kimbrel meltdown.
-
So you’re confusing what you think will happen with what you want to happen. And no idea how they’re done. They got another two years if they wanted to ride this out to the end.
-
What you’re proposing is basically a full rebuild.
-
Lol...your nuts bro if you actually believe that.

James McCann - catcher of the future ?
Chicago White Sox replied to Colinski's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Cole (or any other pitcher) and Grandal aren’t mutually exclusive. We can easily afford both even if Cole is a long-shot.
