Eaton to IL, Burdi up
Engel doesn't play other positions, is all I mean. Leury, Mendick and Vaughn are the other guys. I think they will stick with the extra pitcher until (1) they acquire someone from outside the org or (2) Kopech comes back. Whichever comes first.

Eaton to IL, Burdi up
And yeah the Sox need OF help pretty badly, they're down to Engel and Goodwin and then some guys who aren't full time outfielders.

Eaton to IL, Burdi up
When he's healthy, he's still good, but his legs are pretty much toast at this point, so he's only healthy for short periods between IL stints. Maybe he should be used for more DH duty going forward.

White sox winner!!!!!
While we get TB and Houston, Cleveland gets the Orioles and Pirates. So, I would not be surprised if they pick up a couple games this week.

White sox winner!!!!!
If i'm Hahn i'm on the phone with everyone, trying to get some relief help. This pen is extra sketchy without Kopech.

ELOY back Monday against KC
I defer to ptatc on these things but the earliest he could possibly be back is like, late July, right? And that's if he's really, really ahead of schedule?

Sox @ Tigers, 6/13 12:10 ct
It's really going to be a tough decision. You know the Sox will cry poor, so I expect one extension and one QO.

Sox @ Tigers, 6/13 12:10 ct
Absolute definition of a trap game. Our best starter vs. a bad bullpen. So of course we'll lose 2-1 or something.

Will Hahn be more active this deadline?
I think a reliever is a foregone conclusion. Possibly two. I think a guy like Escobar or Asdrubal Cabrera is more likely than Frazier.
-
Will Hahn be more active this deadline?
With a very good team and more certainty (ie not a shortened / COVID lockdown season) I am sure he will be more active. As far as what kinds of moves are made, i'm sure he'll give his same speech about "the long term vision for this franchise", but he should absolutely be looking at guys on expiring contracts to patch the roster.

Madrigal goes on 60 day DL, Hamstring tear: Goodwin recalled
Can Yoan play the rest of the season in a bubble?

Lynn 1, Hendriks 2, Rodon 7 in ESPN Cy Predictor
I think Cole has to be #1 if you look at anything beyond ERA. Even just looking at ERA, Cole has been remarkable. I'm surprised ESPN has it so backwards. The "VB" thing is hilariously stupid.

Top 3 starters if playoffs started after Game 60
Gio/Lynn/Rodon Gio has showed some reversion to ace status in his last few starts. I would try to keep that rolling. Lynn and Rodon have both been great so that's a no-brainer. Kopech would probably start a hypothetical game 4, as Cease has been very uneven.

5/24 Cardinals vs. White Sox
Tim's really been struggling very recently so a hit here would be nice

5/24 Cardinals vs. White Sox
Given Vaughn's ability to mash lefties (and trouble hitting righties) i'm not sure why they stuck with Kim there.

Where things stand today (AL-NL imbalance)
Of course, you could say the same about the White Sox. The next two series will probably be revealing.

Where things stand today (AL-NL imbalance)
I've been trying to figure this out as well. The pitching is good and should remain good (and aided by AT&T Park) but the offense is a real head scratcher. It's almost entirely guys in their mid 30s having career years, or at least the best seasons they've had in a long time. Yazstzemski, at 30, is one of the youngest guys in their everyday lineup. They're like the anti-Sox - let the old guys play.

Who will be the RFer by the end of the season?
Eaton has been nearly useless against lefties for a while now, so I voted platoon. He'd be the strong side, of course, and get the majority of the playing time. I guess the Sox could trade for Bryant and try him there, but they'd still need a lefty bat, so I don't see that happening. Maybe Robbie Grossman? He's basically what Eaton was supposed to be this year.
