WS lost late. I'm mostly joking, its a new season, some teams favor development over results in the minors, especially at the lower levels, best players on the DL, etc. They do lose a lot though.
-
Ah yeah, these are the Sox minor league results I am used to. Despite a wealth of talent, every level is losing, and either getting shut out or scoring one run. This feels like home.
-
Sox affiliates looking for the rare system sweep.

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 5, 2018 -> 07:00 PM) Getz was asked about this at soxfest. Said he felt trey is a guy he thinks will perform better being moved around the field to keep him trying new things. I’m skeptical but hey it’s worth a shot Translation - This guy isn't in our future plans anymore, but hey, someone's gotta take those ABs. Kade McClure is my sleeper pick for 2018. Big righty with some advanced pitches.

Moncada is similarly talented as guys like Xander Bogaerts and Byron Buxton, and similarly quick to the majors. Those guys needed a couple seasons to show their talent, and they have, especially Bogaerts. Give it time. He has a lot to learn. -

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 5, 2018 -> 06:58 PM) Jesus, you guys have to be thinking of someone else. Infante was an above average reliever last year. This year he looks different, lost his control. 'Tis the nature of the pen. -

QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 5, 2018 -> 06:57 PM) I'm not sure how I see that one. We rolled with our best end of game bullpen configuration with a 4 run lead and gave up the lead anyway. if pitching back-to-back days is going to be a problem for Jones and Soria then boy, its gonna be real ruff out there. -

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 5, 2018 -> 06:54 PM) I don't even think Soria is that bad, he's just pitching in a role that doesn't suit him. He's more of a MRP guy at this point I mean, he's pretty bad. -

QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Apr 5, 2018 -> 06:41 PM) Clean house with this bullpen it’s utter trash. Nate Jones should be the only one still here by year end. Some bad decisions made by staff with assembling the bullpen. Lol who cares this team isn't going anywhere yet. There's about a dozen bodies behind these guys and the Sox picked what they did to preserve depth, not maximize results. -

TWO! BAD! BULLPENS! -
Jose Rondon is an option here, but they want him at Charlotte for now. If Salad is truly gone, he won't be around for long.
-
I still think Fulmer's future is in the pen, but tonight was good. He looked like a credible MLB pitcher, which you couldn't always say about last year's performance. Back end of the pen is good, front end is a Dumpster fire, but there's about half a dozen veterans in Charlotte and about half a dozen more prospects behind waiting to break in. I'm ok with the crappy pen for now.
-
Ready 2 extend Jose Abreu pls
-
I guess i'm pleased at how this series has gone despite possibly getting swept because the difference between a contending team and a rebuilding team on the upswing is a cromulent bullpen.
-
Fulmer...good?
-
Takeaway: - The biggest positive is that Rey Rey looked great. Velo was good, slider looked sharp, control was adequate. - Beef, baby - The bullpen is going to be a problem all season. - Lol don't have Abreu try to take extra bases
-
They keep hitting Yolmer and i'm gonna have to throw down
-
WELLY GET ME TWO
-
Garcia has pitched well, but not 7 strikeouts well. Sox looking jittery at the plate.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 07:14 PM) Though he struck out, Timmy has worked alot of 3-2 counts in the early going so far. Great to see. Kind of, but its also frustrating that he still can't lay off breaking pitches in the dirt.
-
Welly has got to use that little stick they give him up there. Feels like he's watching strike 3 half the time.
-
Couple really nice sliders mixed in there, bodes well for him tonight.

Davidson was red hot to start last year and then cratered, so i'm tempering my expectations. All I want to see from him is less K's. Say by the end of April, his K rate is at or below 30% - then you can start to get excited.
