  1. Anyways Saunders is good D-E-P-T-H since Thompson and Engel aren't ML hitters and Palka isn't an ML outfielder.
  2. You're looking at his BA. His OBP is .364. Oh, and he's slugging .600. I'm not going to say he's completely finished but give the man some credit.
  3. Just got called up to the Nats. They aren't playing around.
  4. Yeah I do think that Renteria will follow up on his threat to play Yolmer in the OF. He's athletic enough to be a solid corner but given his lack of experience, he's likely to be pretty rough at first. But, more versatility = better.
  5. Good call. Kopech 9K + Cease 6K + Dunning 6K
  6. He has plenty to work on. He's been in AAA for like, a month. Give him some more time, nothing is going to change at the MLB level to require him.
  7. Well, Cease is having a much better game, anyways
  8. Last time Kopech struck out the side in the first and I said he must feel juiced. Then he had his worst start of the year. He struck out the side in the first again, so I will casually say he that is quite a nice start.
  9. Hey did we mention that the strike zone sucks tonight? Yeah? Ok good. It sucks. It really sucks. That pitch they called Yolmer out on is a ball 99% of the time.
  10. Checking out of this for today. The only thing that is going to make this team better is time. I'll still be checking the MiLB box scores, of course.
  11. Arms - yes Bats - I'd go Bohm, Madrigal, Bart, India.
  12. Lineup misses Yoan so bad. Not sure why Tim isn't leading off, but whatever, the tank is on. If your thing is being bad, lean in, baby.
  13. They should also promote my boy Dickman to Charlotte, he's really come on in the last few weeks and he had some time in B'ham last year.
  14. Hansen, if he's healthy. I don't think we see him until next year, though. Collins' bat could force the issue, but he doesn't seem ready to catch in the big leagues yet.
  15. Close! I looked this up cause I was curious - in May of last year, he had a 2.31 ERA. But in June, his ERA was 6.95 over 5 starts, he pitched 22 innings and walked 18 while striking out just 22.
  16. Well, Kopech struck out the side in the first, so it seems like he's pretty juiced after his bad outing.
  17. Clearly Ricky should have put in David Robertson, or Tommy Kahnle, or Anthony Swarzak
  18. You can lead a pope to water, but you can't look him in the mouth
  19. Not beating that one with a ten foot pole!
  20. Gio is a lot like the guy who was just pitching against the Sox - a tall right handed former top prospect with control issues and trouble repeating his delivery.
  21. Yoooo i'm glad i'm not the only one pointing out how monumentally stupid having Tim sac bunt there is. Really sets up <check notes> one the worst hitters in baseball to come thru.
  22. Rutherford getting his first dong before Sheets is kinda messed up. Good for him though. Hopefully more to come.
  23. It's not so much whether it is or isn't league average, but that it has reverted to a much more normal level than previously. Despite that, his average is still low and his slg% is pretty anemic. I agree that it's hyperbolic to say he was washed up after a couple bad weeks, but it's equally hyperbolic to declare him an absolute stud after a couple of good weeks, especially when the overall picture is still pretty tepid.
