QUOTE (BurlyMan56 @ Mar 17, 2009 -> 04:49 PM) Air Bud on the Sox? In all seriousness, Tim Raines Jr. Oney Guillen, at least he might stick his head acroos the plate and take one for the team. -

Why don`t you just ask me if I`d rather be crucified or burned at the stake. Anyway, I`d say Owens without the slightest hesitation. -
Heres some advice, don`t chew gum, when those beasts smell the sugar they`ll bite your fingers.

Guess who his agent is? Off the top of my head, I`d say his THG connection.

It`s a little late now, to bad you weren`t around in 1876, the 7th cavalry needed 14 new ones.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 12, 2009 -> 02:17 PM) As a total player yes, but not as a defender. Frazier got the job of defending the conferences best - guys like Turner, Harris, Hummell and Lucas - and shut them all down (save for Lucas in the 2nd game). So did Walton, plus he did it on a much larger national stage. I could make a good case for all 4, but Walton winning the award should not be a surprise to anyone. -

QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Mar 13, 2009 -> 02:15 PM) Kentucky is looking like mediocrity will be around for awhile. and awhile after that. -
QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 13, 2009 -> 07:12 PM) Really nice win for Illinois today. If I'm Weber I give the bench a ton of PT tomorrow. I'd like for them to win but it isn't a very big game in the grand scheme of things. Rather have fresh legs going into the tourney and I'd like to get Legion some confidence. getting him some Confidence is the reason Weber has him on the very end of the bench, can`t miss any wide open jumpers from there, and his phantom defense won`t hurt either.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 6, 2009 -> 11:57 AM) Or think if they didn't collapse against Clemson, @ Michigan and @ Michigan State, or if they could have just hit any shot against PSU the first time. This team could easily be about 29-2 or 28-3. The only clear beatings were @ Minnesota and @ Wisconsin. The rest can be chalked up to terrible end game play. I've been nothing but impressed with Weber's job this year. I expected to be a middle of the road big ten team. But they were in the title hunt in the last week. A title hunt against real competition (cough *Memphis* cough). The next 3-4 years are going to be one of the historic runs for the program I think. Lots of veteran talent mixed with raw talent and great coaching = multiple big ten titles and a couple of runs at the NCAA championship IMO. Or 15-16. -
QUOTE (Ishmookie @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 11:12 PM) If we're the home team why don't we get to hear Hawk and Stoney? Don`t look a gift horse in the mouth.

Swisher Trade Revisited (My how times have changed)
4 points replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (wsgdf_2 @ Mar 6, 2009 -> 04:04 PM) I don't know... salary dumps are pretty easy deals to make when you're one of the few contending teams with salary space and a team like the Pirates is desperate. That deal was a no brainer. Are you mentaly challenged? You call the Ramirez deal a salary dump no brainer, and in the same breath, laud the Swisher deal, which in fact, was a salary dump. IMHO, the best trade in Chicago baseball over the last 30 years, was the Sandberg deal, which was no effin salary dump. But, because it`s the Cubs, I wait in anticipation of another 2 year old response. -

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 04:49 PM) UCONN drops 1 spot, MSU shouldn't be in the top 10, and Duke only moves up 2 spots with a home offensive explosion against a tough team in Wake + a win at MSG against SJU. All those are mistakes. So your saying a team with the best record in the country against the RPI top 50, shouldn`t be in the top 10, a win against A good Wake team at home, and a win against a terrible team on a neutral court should move you up farther than 2 spots without mentioning who else you should have passed. Try and keep your ACC bias on an even keel. -

QUOTE (zenryan @ Feb 22, 2009 -> 02:03 PM) 8-8 in ACC play will get a NCAA bid. And since the mid majors wont be taking many at-large spots, 7-9 and a win in the ACC tourney puts us on the bubble. Well if Dukie V keeps pushing Cincinnatti for the dance, you might have some problems, did you hear that motormouth tonight. -

QUOTE (zenryan @ Feb 21, 2009 -> 12:59 PM) Nice 69-58 win over BC by Miami today. 5-8 in ACC play with 3 games we'll be favored keeps our hopes alive for a NCAA bid. Time to scoreboard watch the rest of the weekend. Can you say NIT. -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 18, 2009 -> 09:37 AM) I didnt think the article painted him in a bad light at all. I think that was who Bobby was at the time. I thought the article was actually a GREAT read and loved it when i read it. Exactly right

Dollars to doughnuts, Linebrink doesn`t hit 25 innings pitched in 2009. -
QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Feb 16, 2009 -> 03:50 PM) i was thinking to myself that why is he highly regarded by all of us when hes not even a top 10 prospect for the sox(cole armstrong is even above him lol) and i was looking it up and saw on bbp, the projected 2012 linuep. i thought everything seemed about right except that they still have JD as our projected rf for 20012 lol http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/prosp...009/267205.html He`d still cover more ground than Adam Dunn.

QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Feb 16, 2009 -> 11:41 AM) Kenny Williams will take a swing at fathom. Ozzie and Hawk have a post-game match in the octagon with Mariotti and his ego. White Sox win the division on the last day of the season...again. Detroit continues its freefall, but Cleveland, the Twins and the Royals are all significantly better. LOL, great post, but I fear if the tribe,Twins, and Royals are all much better, it will hurt are division chances more than help.JMHO.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Feb 16, 2009 -> 10:24 AM) The Sox will get into a brawl with the Twins. Fields and Anderson will combine for 50 plus homeruns. Danks will win 18 games. Jenks will lead the AL in saves and have an ERA under 2.50 I think you have a good shot at being right on 1,3,& 4, It will take no less than an act of god for #2 to manifest.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 7, 2009 -> 10:05 AM) Kenny is answering a question. Its not like he is going out and saying this to anyone he can corner. Reporters ask, he answers. Kenny, is that you?
