John Paxson and Gar Forman have been running this team for over 13 seasons now. They have not gotten it done. They should be fired. I simply cannot recall this type of blind support and protection (from the Chicago media) when it came to Jerry Angelo, Phil Emery, Jim Hendry, or any other executive in Chicago sports. (At least Kenny won a World Series) The fact is--Continuously, GarPax has failed to provide talented, championship caliber rosters.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 08:56 PM) No we couldn't have. A's had higher waiver priority. Could have traded for him before he was placed on waivers...

I'll be pissed if Danny Valencia has a better year than Lawrie. We could have gotten Valencia for nothing last year.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 12:56 AM) I was clamoring for Parra all over this site about 2 years ago, but at this point, I hope the Sox aim a bit higher. That being said, I'd still be happy with him doing some defensive work with that cannon arm. how about kemp?

Per rotoworld: According to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, trade talks involving Jose Lobataon are "picking up." The Rays re-signed Jose Molina over the winter and acquired Ryan Hanigan from the Reds, so the assumption is that Lobaton will be moved before the start of the season. Topkin writes that the Diamondbacks, Indians, Rockies, White Sox, Mets, and Nationals are among the clubs who have interest or have a need behind the plate. The 29-year-old hit .249/.320/.394 with seven home runs and 32 RBI in 100 games last season.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 18, 2013 -> 12:28 PM) Jermaine Dye? A.J. Pierzynski? I should have made myself more clear. Apologies. I'm talking about being the BIG spender. Dye and AJ were great under the radar moves. Every team HAS to hit on those sometimes. BUT, I'm talking about unloading big money and being right.

The White Sox have never hit the jackpot in free agency. Ever. Why is this any different? If this (Abreu) guy were as good as people say, wouldn't the Yankees, or Giants, or Rangers, or Cubs been all over him and they would have definitely been willing to outbid the White Sox. Paying him twice as much as Puig.....I'm skeptical. Not trying to be a buzzkill, but there needs to be a separate discussion here of just how unproven this guy is. The White Sox have never been the smartest free agent seekers....If something is too good to be true...it is. I guarantee this guy isn't an all star.

Hey guys I know this is a bit off topic however there is a white sox wgn commercial from a couple years ago possibly that has a classic rock song that I can't seem to think of....the rock song has either the word "hundred"or thousand" in it.... Sorry for wasting anyone's time... It's just completely preoccupying my mind as to what song it could have been.

I know that Flowers is going to be our workhorse so we won't be leaning on our backup too much....But it's looking more and more like Gimenez is the guy. Anyone have strong feelings either way about him being a full time backup? All I know is that he was once a top prospect and then messed up his shoulder... btw I read the board all the time....just don't really post....this has had me wondering for a few weeks now though.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 18, 2010 -> 05:31 PM) LeBron was probably worth 40 wins to that Cavs team which is insane and shows you just how good LeBron James is. There isn't another player in basketball who could have gotten those Cavs teams close to 66 or 61 wins. Kobe

The Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo reports that the White Sox will listen to offers for Mark Buehrle. We've heard at one point or another about pretty much all of the White Sox rotation being on the market, as GM Kenny Williams has talked about having to be creative with his roster with the budget stretched to its limit. Buehrle is due $14 million on the last year of his contract, so we can't imagine the Sox would get a ton in return for him.

Does anyone know if the metro Detroit area will have coverage of the game?

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 12:26 AM) check out crede's stats last year. So what? He was injured...When he's healthy he's so much better than anything we had at 3rd last year. We should've gone after Beltre over Dunn, 3rd base is a huge issue for this club.

What do you guys think of bringing Crede back for cheap. I still think Morel needs more time to develop, and I think between Crede, Vizquel and Teahen we'd find a decent temporary solution. Plus, I really miss Crede's facial hair.

SI.com's Jon Heyman reports that competing executives believe Paul Konerko "will surely stay" with the White Sox. The White Sox want Konerko back, and he doesn't want to go anywhere, so it's probably only a matter of time before something gets done. Heyman speculates that Paulie would get $13 million per season. Adam Dunn is now in the fold, but he's better off as a DH, anyway, with Konerko spending most of the time at first base. Dec. 3 - 11:57 pm et
