  1. I'm still waiting for that 8 game losing streak for the Tigers. I still have hope.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 6, 2011 -> 08:12 AM) I think the difference with Sergio is that when he doesn't have "it", he hasn't yet figured out how to get enough outs to slog through with the save. When Nathan doesn't have "it", he loads the bases but gets that last out somehow. When Sergio doesn't have it, there's 2 HR and a game over. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 6, 2011 -> 08:13 AM) Some guys seem to put guys on base in most outings. Jenks was like that most of the time, he just always found a way out of it. Ah. Well maybe another year of experience will teach Santos how to deal with situations where he doesn't have "it". He's still fairly young and hasn't been pitching that long. I know he likes talking to Mariano Rivera and getting advice from him. I'm not too worried about him.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 6, 2011 -> 08:01 AM) Santos is an odd duck as a closer. He is either dominant Mo-style, or he is just awful. 95% of the time it seems like he is on, it is the other 5% that destroys things. I wonder if the Sox have seen something in him, which is why Sale got more opportunities as the season went on. Isn't that the case with most elite closers though?
  4. I just hope to God that Zach Stewart doesn't turn out like Armando Galarraga. Please please please Baseball Gods make him successful so we can stop hearing about Daniel "Cy" Hudson so freaking much.
  5. If the twins hit a walk off home run right here I'm going to need a new tv.
  6. Justin Verlander's face looks really punchable...
  7. Well f*** me this got ugly in a hurry... Two ass kickings in a row on national tv.
  8. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 07:42 PM) Morel can go back to AAA. Then who would you play at 3rd?
  9. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 06:57 PM) I'd take Martinez or Alomar. Been saying this all season. I don't think you could go wrong with either of those guys. Please just say no to LaRussa. I'd rather have Jerry Manuel back.
  10. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 02:22 PM) Not that it would ever happen, but Fisk has no business managing. Thank you.
  11. I haven't been this mad at the results of a baseball game in a long long time. I left the house at the rain delay... and they lost? This is just one of those seasons boys and girls. I still have faith and I'm still a White Sox fan, but this one is painful. I truly believe that next year will be a lot better for the Sox - especially with a new coaching staff.
  12. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 3, 2011 -> 04:32 PM) Not sure who the announcer is, but man is he a douche bag. Mitch Williams sucks.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 1, 2011 -> 08:23 AM) There's no reason to do this unless the total savings would be >$15 million. There's at least a nonzero chance Rios could pull together a good year next year if he works over the offseason and there's a new coaching staff. Indeed. I'd rather stick with Rios.
  14. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 31, 2011 -> 10:16 AM) Apparently Rios is a must start everyday. Plus he needs to be the cleanup hitter everyday too. He's just too good to leave on the bench. f*** DeAza. s*** like this makes me think that Ozzie really doesn't care anymore. I know I'm not privvy to inside information and I'm just a fan, but it really looks like Ozzie isn't putting the best team out on the field. if so, then bring on the Sandy Alomar Jr/ Dave Martinez era.
  15. Holy s*** that was a good call by that ump... Who the hell told Viciedo to run anyway?
  16. Haha it's funny seeing the White Sox out Twins the Minnesota Twins.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 29, 2011 -> 10:08 AM) If the scenario was: KW has no authority right now to fire Guillen because of an edict from ownership, Consequently, KW has no authority right now to force Guillen to follow his instructions (because he can't fire him for open defiance of KW's decisions), and Guillen makes clear that he will not play Viciedo if he's called up, he'll bench the kid like he did last year, and maybe insult/run him down a bit for good measure Then KW's hands are tied from above and below in the org. Spot on. What the hell is KW supposed to do? His hands are tied. I like Oz, I really do, but I don't think he and Kenny Williams will be able to work together anymore. I hope Ozzie goes to Florida or somewhere else. If Oz is there next year, then I think KW resigns, and I wouldn't blame him one bit.
  18. Man seriously... It's time to send Adam Dunn home for the rest of the year. That was a bad call, but still. The Sox are doing more damage to him by continuing to keep him on the roster. DL his ass now.
  19. Mark Kotsay has laughed his ass off at us fans this year.
  20. I wonder what other MLB players are saying about Dunn.
