Looking back on all of the offseason moves so far the only one that had an inkling of a rumor of happening was the Alonso trade and even then the Sox weren’t specifically named by Rosenthal as the team in on him.

1. Paul Konerko 2. Scotty Pods 3. AJ Pierzynski 4. Mark Buehrle 5. Jose Valentine So many runner ups though.... man.....tough call

John Heyman was talking about it on MLB Network not that long ago

He has the opportunity to be a closer with us....not for sure who else out there is in on him but that combined with money....that helps a little too

Yeah that’d be my guess too....we need bullpen help regardless of whether we land Harper or Machado

Just trying to factor in the importance of landing a big fish with drawing back interest and new fans, if Machado comes to us and Harper goes to the Cubs do we get outshined by them and move the needle at all? I get harper is the biggest of the two, it would kind of suck in my opinion

So how would everyone feel if let’s say the White Sox land Machado but the cubs somehow land harper? How are we feeling about it all?

A big if there, unfortunately I don’t believe any of these reports, I think just a week or so ago there was reports that the Sox weren’t prepared to spend as big as people were expecting. All of these tweets and reports, including that one on the White Sox is posturing.

I agree, I want to be a believer that we get one but have my reservations based on our past history. I also get how everyone would like to tell the national media to go screw themselves but in all fairness the White Sox have no one to blame but themselves for being in this situation, not the media.

That’s one of my worries, the Cubs finding some sucker to take on Heywards contract

There are plenty ABs to go around for him in the outfield right now.....Alonso and Abreu is not going to affect that

I’m still not sold on Palka and at the end of the day I don’t think he will be around or if he is won’t be a factor when the time comes for us to be contenders

Yep, with Jimenez coming up and if moncada can finally put it all together we should have a pretty decent lineup with or without Machado/Harper

Let the life support run for another week or so....at least now I know I won’t have to refresh every 5 minutes and can sit back and wait until January to see what happens

Either way he’s still getting paid, someone will take a flyer on him come spring training

Man I was really hoping the rumor mill would start churning today......instead only what we’ve already known and everything else is dead silent.....

If Machado does go to the Yankees it would be the worst case scenario as the Phillies then throw the stupid money at Harper and we are left sitting holding the bag......

I’m trying to stay level headed about all of this but it’s seemed like the whitesox have been in the back burner as far as the rumors go lately, which could be a really good thing
