Once again, the team involved in this negotiation is the Chicago Whitesox, they are NOT New York Yankees or the Cubs to be in a position to do this. They have no bargaining chips here other than to pay the man. The team has been losing for a decade straight, have not signed a big named free agent in even longer than that and are in no way shape or form in position to do anything like this. It’s the price you pay for being irrelevant for as long as they have.

FWIW that J Michael Robertson dude pinned his tweet saying the Sox signing Machado was imminent, but now that I’m thinking about it this is also the same guy who said he didn’t want credit if and when it happened earlier in the offseason right? i know it’s a fake account just speculating because it’s do that or watch the garbage smack down is putting out right now

The presser will be in Arizona not Chicago, no reason to do it in Chicago just to immediately head to AZ

Welp, only 44 more days until opening day.....so there is that. I doubt it drags on much longer and definitely the dust will be all settled by opening day. But hopefully when he signs it will be a fun time for us fans. Imagine being the fan base that has followed this like a hawk and doesn’t land one of the big 2.....

No doubt if an announcement happens now it will take place in Arizona. It’s be kind of silly to do it in Chicago then immediately fly him down to Arizona. I imagine this thing gets wrapped up either way within the next two weeks. His 305 guys are going to be in Arizona come Monday at the latest....

I think everyone would agree that this would an amazing problem to have, however Moncada is still raw, in my opinion has way too much upside to say he is blocking Madrigal who still is unproven in his own right. Cross that bridge when we come to it and pray that it does become an issue of who to play at what position
