I am sure it was just the Yankees blocking the Jays. No reason for the Sox to deal him now to just one bidder. If they actually wanted to trade him, do it in the off-season to a larger market.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 31, 2015 -> 10:40 AM) It's always worth repeating: Almonte was for two freaking months of Gordon Beckham. And Taylore Cherty continues to impress. No joke! I am kicking myself for not talking to him while I was in Winston-Salem, that team is so loaded currently.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Aug 31, 2015 -> 10:44 AM) Thanks for the recap Southside hitman. Sox looking pretty smart with the Zangari pick so far. Should be interesting to see where the Sox place him in the minors for the 2016 season. Would Kanny be too big of a stretch? Thanks for reading bud! I think Kanny would be very appropriate for him and Seby. Should be a interesting affiliate to follow with most of the rookies and internationals signees graduating there.

http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2015/...g-playoff-game/ Almonte has career start and AZL survives and advances in AZL playoffs.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Aug 30, 2015 -> 10:46 PM) Arizona League playoffs currently going on. White Sox in a scoreless battle with the Dodgers in a single elimination game. Sox win!

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Aug 26, 2015 -> 09:27 PM) Lucky you! I'm not on twitter so forgive me if you've covered this but any idea if Marin's velocity has increased since his move to the pen? Marin looks like a realistic option for the Sox pen in 2016. He was throwing 89-91 in his outing but was very effective (3 K's in 1.1 perfect innings). With Marin I think his location and ability to change speeds is what makes him so difficult to hit. He works quickly and has excellent mound presence.

As a heads up, I am in Charlotte covering the Knights tonight. Check out the FutureSox twitter machine for observations and games notes

QUOTE (Dunt @ Aug 20, 2015 -> 09:39 AM) Anderson's OPS has quietly crept up to .785 over the last few weeks. Very encouraging to see that being that it has stayed between .730-.750 most of the season. http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2015/...y-of-the-cycle/ Recap posted. Pretty quiet day aside from Anderson's great night.

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Aug 19, 2015 -> 10:20 AM) I know he gave up 0 ER, but Danish only had 2Ks and gave up 8 hits. Can you really call that dominating? Semantics lol. Anytime you go 7.1 innings without allowing an earned run I'd say you did your job.
-
http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2015/...l-to-no-hitter/ Great day for the system as Johnson, Danish, and Acosta dominated. Zangari and Gonzalez had huge days for AZL and Ramon Beltre continues to rake in the DSL.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 18, 2015 -> 11:22 AM) http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20150818 Charlotte- Johnson Birmingham- Danish Winston Salem- Almonte Kannapolis- Lowry Great Falls- Easterling AZL & DSL- TBA Great pitching day for the farm. I know you didn't mean Nelson Acosta when you said great pitching day, but he and two other pitchers just threw a no-hitter in the DSL. Almost a perfect game too, only one walk in the 8th. Acosta had a perfect game through seven innings and he had six strikeouts.

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Aug 18, 2015 -> 12:22 PM) Is it possible that Brantly can hit Major League pitching? He's only 26. They play him at DH a lot so I assume he can't catch. Am I wrong to think that the records of the DSL, ASL and PL are meaningful re the state of low minors and quality of drafts. They can always load up the full season teams with org. guys to boost records; but not the rookie leagues. I haven't heard any recent reports on his defense but he is splitting time at catcher in Charlotte with Kevan Smith. He played almost entirely at catcher in Birmingham so I don't think it's a fair assumption that he "can't catch."

QUOTE (Dunt @ Aug 18, 2015 -> 10:50 AM) Zangari probably cant be considered a legit prospect until he replicates this performance in Kanny and WS, right? Well he is already the #20 best prospect in our system according to FutureSox's rankings, so a strong preformance in Kanny next year would probably elevate him to top 10 status. I would consider that "legit"

Catcher Carlos Perez went 3-4 with a double and a triple and is hitting .411/.514/.554 over his last 17 games. Third baseman Ramon Beltre went 2-4 with a home run.

QUOTE (Dunt @ Aug 17, 2015 -> 11:19 AM) While I've been incredibly excited about following Zangari thus far, I can't help but find a lot of this last draft classes start pretty encouraging. Fulmer is throwing great, then some of these lower level arms like Erwin, Stephens, and Cherry are dealing too. Could turn out to be a nice draft when everyone was worried about what the Sox were going to do without a 2nd or 3rd RD pick. The Sox went pretty heavy on the experienced college guys so you would hope they do well in Rookie Ball. We will have a much better idea of what we have with them when they get to Kannapolis and Winston-Salem next year. But Zangari mashing in Arizona as a 18 year-old is VERY encouraging.
-
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 17, 2015 -> 10:30 AM) Chances he will be in Kanny next year? If so, Kanny can be a very interesting team offensively next year I think that will be very likely for him and considering his age (won't turn 19 until May) I expect him to be there all year.

A teaser on Zangari, we have something in the works on him that should be published within the week. Stay tuned.

http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2015/...erfect-innings/ Fulmer, Zangari, and Hayes were the big performances during Saturday's action.
