Blue Jays interested in Quintana or Samardjiza

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 04:03 PM) Losing 7 out of 10 in August and Sox will kick themselves in the ass for holding on to Shark. Not really, because in your scenario they either 1) Re-sign him with the leverage of the comp pick or 2) Receive aforementioned comp pick. Maybe not as sexy as getting top prospects right now but not terrible either way. -
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 02:42 PM) Re-opening this, not sure why it was closed. Just because Dodgers say they don't want to trade him doesn't mean they won't. See: Tulo. Bob Nightengale @BNightengale 17h17 hours ago The #Dodgers have let teams know that Yasiel Puig is available in the right deal, but teams showing much more interest in their prospects. Actually the latest thing I heard is that he was available again.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 01:32 PM) Infante's been their 2b for a while now. I don't know that Getz is even int he league any more? What??

QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 01:31 PM) Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal 1m1 minute ago Source: #Royals getting #Athletics’ Zobrist. https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal Going all out Nice move to replace Chris Getz...that is their 2B right?

QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 11:23 AM) Jon Morosi @jonmorosi 55s55 seconds ago #BlueJays still talking with #WhiteSox about Samardzija. He's scheduled to pitch at 7:10 pm ET tonight. https://twitter.com/jonmorosi Yep. Would not surprise me if something happened today. If Jays are being aggressive and want shark, they shouldn't let him pitch tonight for Sox.
-
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 10:15 AM) With the trade deadline Friday, I don't see why a decision has to be made on Samardzija tonight. If we lose the next two sell him off, if we win the next two only trade him if you get a great deal. Not saying it would be ideal for the Sox, but Blue Jays can't wait forever. There is guys available on the secondary market that they could go after. If Sox FO is in turmoil as described and can't make a decision, they could be last one standing without a chair so to speak.

Jon Morosi @jonmorosi 13m13 minutes ago #BlueJays working to trade for a starting pitcher. Ian Kennedy one of the many options they're considering. Every indication is Blue Jays will make a splash for a starter...Bucket reports TOR has a standing offer for Shark. Shark is scheduled to start tonight...is today the day? If I am the Blue Jays, I force the Sox front office to decide before Shark's start tonight.

http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2015/...eight-straight/ Recap posted. Not great team results, but some nice individual performances across the affiliates.

QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 12:17 PM) the point i would like to make is how many times did that worked for the sox, and on the flipside, how many times has that failed. Last guy I can remember who actually worked out for the Sox like that was Chris Carter. Ironically one of the rare prospects the Sox have traded who has amounted to anything.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 10:12 AM) Eh, the same people would have complained about a "safe" pick as well. I don't mind going for high risk high reward guys, just prefer betting on players who have more than one tool.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 08:20 AM) Worth noting on Lassiter, he's a guy who was at one time a high round pick-level guy. Scuffled on the field this past year, then had off-field issues and was suspended from his team for the end of the season. So he's probably more talented than his draft round indicates, but we'll see if he can make it work. Lassiter is hitting .340/.493/.460 and has nearly twice as many walks (15) as strikeouts (8). Over his past four games he is 8-15 with a HR, three walks, and a stolen base.

Also I know it's the Pioneer League, but God damn Landon Lassiter, Johan Cruz, and Jake Jarvis.

QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 13, 2015 -> 10:59 PM) I know next to nothing about the competition level in the DSL, but Maiker Feliz is making that league his b**** at 17 yo. #FreeFeliz

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 13, 2015 -> 08:54 PM) Actually he hit 102 . 3 pitches in a row went. 100, 101, 102 . Didn't seem to be fooling anyone though. 4 straight hits off him including 2 doubles. Maybe he need to hide the ball better ? Seems like the hitters were seeing it well. But perhaps the guys belting him around were from higher levels ? I am sure he was trying to light up the radar gun rather than pitch. Impressive though.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 13, 2015 -> 07:14 PM) First time I've thought about Barnum all year. I'd say it's about time to close the book on the kid. Head scratching pick from the moment it was announced. I think I remember his swing being described as "long" multiple times.

QUOTE (staxx @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 09:38 AM) Heidenreich having a great season... Do we have anything with him there? He profiles as a long reliever/5th starter type. He is 24 at A+ and has allowed 89 hits over 92.2 IP while only striking out 70. Nice walk rate though.

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 8, 2015 -> 10:30 AM) I am hoping the Cardinals take LaRoche of our hands in the coming weeks. Would be a pure salary dump at this point. I would rather see if he can rebound in the 2nd half. No real reason not to, it's not like he is blocking anyone.

Looks like Peralta is starting game 2 for Kannapolis.

Spencer Adams goes 5.2 innings allowing no walks and no earned runs.
