  7. http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2015/...arez-lead-dash/ Great night for Anderson, Alvarez, and Fulmer.
  8. Alvarez homer. Fulmer with a bit of wildness, 3 walks in first two innings.
  9. http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2015/...rero-dominates/ Recap posted. Excellent start from Jordan Guerrero and Anderson and Engel both steal three bags. Between Guerrero and Spencer Adams, the Sox have a couple of potential gems stashed in the lower levels.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 03:55 PM) On name recognition alone, I would be pretty surprised. If nothing else, something like coaching would also be an option. Playing>coaching. If some team will pay you to play, keep playing until you can't anymore. Then you can always coach.
  11. http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2015/...-straight-time/ Recap posted. Suck it Kolek
  12. This is excellent content! Seems like a very bright mind and has Hahn's fingertips all over it. "I want more contact guys in our system." Hallelujah!
  13. http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2015/...ghts-snap-skid/ Recap posted. Excellent nights from Coats, Cooper, Zavala, and Zangari.
  14. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 5, 2015 -> 03:18 PM) Of course he's closer to the majors. Junior Guerra is closer to the majors but he shouldn't be a top 30 prospect either. Development time in the minors (basically their chances of busting) are absolutely a consideration in these rankings. It's a risk/reward you have to weigh when you are evaluating these guys.
  15. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 5, 2015 -> 03:01 PM) Fulmer isn't Carlos Rodon though. People need to stop thinking like this. I like him. I trust the Sox on pitching. But Fulmer isn't a sure thing to be a starting pitcher long-term. I think you said it here, the Sox are trusted to evaluate pitching talent and have a track record of handling guys who other organizations might be scared off by their mechanics. If Anderson hits his very high ceiling he will make this look silly agreed, but he has quite a bit more development ahead of him where Fulmer is likely closer to the majors to be honest.
  16. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 5, 2015 -> 11:45 AM) Fulmer looking good, Clark gaining steam. Engel and Michalczewski hitting. I like all that. Engel has very loud tools and is really playing well right now. If things click with him...watch out. Tons of potential.
  17. http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2015/...ash-to-victory/ Recap posted. Great game from the Dash, meh otherwise.
  18. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Aug 4, 2015 -> 07:16 AM) http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20150804 Charlotte: Noesi 6:05 CT Birmingham: Blackmar 6:05 CT Winston: Fulmer 6:00 CT Kanny: Almonte 6:05 CT DSL Sox: ? GF: off Zach Thompson is now the starter for Kannapolis.
  19. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 4, 2015 -> 09:11 AM) Jose Abreu has 23 walks this year. Good point. Anderson definitely won't ever be a huge walk guy, but he doesn't need to be.
  20. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 3, 2015 -> 09:51 PM) Man, I had no idea that Tim Anderson was over .300 on the year. After today, he is hitting .307 with 40!! steals. He only had 10 steals last season... The dude still has no idea how to draw a walk though. Only 19 on the year. But he has four of those walks over the last ten games. He definitely seems to be turning a corner.
  21. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Aug 3, 2015 -> 06:28 PM) Anderson 1-1 Delmonico HR Just wrote in Delmonico's capsule that he needs to start hitting home runs again if he wants to be considered an option. Boom. Well done Nick.
  22. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Aug 3, 2015 -> 10:02 PM) Slaughter rule must have been 20. Asheville's Yonathan Daza went 5-7 and raised his average .267 to .288 over the course of that GAME. LOL
  23. QUOTE (Dunt @ Aug 3, 2015 -> 11:39 PM) I'm really interested to see what the Sox have in Maiker Feliz. He has an exceptional BB% for a 17 year old. Zangari looking like a really nice pick so far, good to see some power come into the system. I totally agree with you, but walk rates should come with a grain of salt in that league. There was a game I remember where the Sox walked 16(!) times.
  24. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 3, 2015 -> 12:09 PM) As Will pointed out, Guerra is right on the doorstep and has the stuff to be an effective major league reliever. Guys like Leyer and Wheeler (other relievers) are further off and their current stuff is no better, though they have higher ceilings. The rest are all guys who could have made a case there, but as Rob pointed out, we had a real hard time with the back end of the list. When we release the full list that includes names who just missed, you'll see it is longer than any we've ever had, because there were that many "interesting" guys at the bottom. FYI, Rondon is not in the Top 15 either. His hitting has fallen off a cliff, not just in results, but when you watch him hit he's just a disaster up there. It's true. Rondon is putting up worse stats at the plate than when he was in the Dominican Summer League. He is slugging .224 despite hitting three home runs this year.
  25. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 3, 2015 -> 11:10 AM) My thoughts: Guerra at 30 over guys like Leyer, Wheeler, Rondon (assuming he's not in top 15), Rodriguez, Robbins, Almonte, Chalas, and Martinez is a joke to me. But, that's really nit picking since he's at 30. Love that Wendelken finally made the list. I really think he can be a Petricka type pitcher. Love that the young guys are finally coming into their own it looks like, like Cruz, Jarvis, Clark. I'm willing to bet Savala, Rodriguez, and Almonte will crack the top 30 next year. I think Erwin is too high, low 20s sounds right. Erwin does seem a bit high in retrospect, but honestly there is not a lot of difference between 16-35 in this system. The rankings were all over the board.
