http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2015/...idators-to-win/ Recap posted. Reliever Matt Cooper has been REALLY good recently.

Fun stat about Spencer Adams, he has five walks over his last 57.2 innings and has just 15 walks over his 135.2 professional innings. Unbelievable command for a high schooler. In comparison, Tyler Kolek had five walks over two innings last night against Kannapolis.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 02:48 PM) Dan Hayes @CSNHayes now8 seconds ago Still hearing asking price for Jeff Samardzija is very high. #WhiteSox Sure they priced him where they were fairly sure no one would pay their demands.

Thank God. No offense to Cespedes. Great player

QUOTE (RaySox @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 02:24 PM) MLBN says they're talking about the White Sox after the break... should be an interesting 30 seconds No...just frustrating I am sure. They aren't going to break news on MLBN.

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 12:11 PM) #WhiteSox listening to "everything," source says. Have not completely ruled out Jeff Samardzija trade -- and open to adding, too. https://twitter.com/jonmorosi/status/627164066063085568 Good tweet. I like seeing things like this. Sox are in a good position here. Hahn should exploit whatever market is available.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 10:57 AM) Anything we give up for a rental when our backs against the ball, is extremely risky. Belton Bill Melton was on yesterday and he had some interesting points (later on he kind of went back on them though, but I'll ignore that for the purpose of this post). Bottom line, he said that he hopes Kenny and Rick execute on whatever they planned to do prior to the streak happening. If they thought they had the goods to win, then do it, if not, then do that, but you shouldn't necessarily let 1.5 weeks of play impact your decisions for the rest of the season. I am actually giving Bill Melton more credit cause he didn't quite say it like that, but it was his point. It is also why I believe it is imperative for the club, if it is going to buy, to buy someone who will be here for the long haul (unless the rental is so cheap it is absurd not to do it, such as Beck for Cespedes or something like that). We should be taking a quasi Ranger mentality (or almost like a 2004 mentality when we acquired Contreras) and while the move might help us contend this year, the goal is for this to make us a better team in 2016 & 2017. With that in mind, when it comes to Shark, Hahn and Kenny have a ton of leverage right now. Dodgers still need that upgrade (and the list of pitchers like Shark is small and some rivals, including the Giants have upgraded). Angels have to also be interested in another pitcher (especially given the moves the Astros just made) and I presume the Yanks would be listening as well. I'm not saying I'm ready to sell as I want to buy and have said I want to buy (but potentially do a controlled sell as well). Given where the market is, if the Sox get the right offer, I don't blame them for selling Shark while still buying a bat elsewhere. I also am okay with them buying a bat and going for this thing, but please, please, do not buy a rental or make a bunch of moves ignoring our future. This. +1

I am for trading Shark today...who is buying? Dodgers, Jays, Giants, and Astros all already got starters...who is left?

As flashy as acquiring Upton or Cespedes would be, it would very shortsighted in my opinion to give up prospects for rentals to bank on 2015. This has Kenny written all over it.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 03:30 PM) In fairness to the 14 year old, it is so oddly specific and inconsequential that you have to think he didn't pull it out of thin air. Chris Cotillo did report it earlier that he was likely to be traded.

QUOTE (Buehrlesque @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 02:30 PM) That is one guy I would empty the farm for. Good third basemen are incredibly rare, and I don't see many avenues for the Sox to get one. Agreed. I love Anderson but I would drive him to the airport for Frazier.

QUOTE (BrianAnderson @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 02:10 PM) I mean, this is all make-believe world. But hypothetically speaking, would you entertain buying low on Starlin Castro and slotting him over to 3B? Not the best defensively in the field, or very good. Also declining numbers offensively, however maybe a change of scenery? I mean, he's only 25 -- put up some real slick numbers at age 20-24. Maybe buy on a down year. Not sure what it'd take to get him. His contract is 8.10.11.12 and then 16mm option. He's basically a salary dump at this point considering how awful he has been. If it prevents us from spending money elsewhere (almost assuredly so) I will pass.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 11:25 AM) Supposedly it's Norris, Alford, and Matt Boyd. That's crazy for a rental. No way Price stays there in offseason. Makes me wonder what they would of given up for Shark....oh well.
