  1. I didn't think it looked like his follow-thru but I guess it is.
  2. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 11:08 AM) i forgot...you cant...his's site's broken...again Is that why you're here? Also, that's the worst misuse of apostrophes I've ever seen.
  3. Thought this was interesting. Lesbian couple asked to remove offensive shirt at Dollywood. This seems like a complete 180 from the situation with Beckham.
  4. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 09:35 AM) Konerko especially. And I'll give the new poster a break since he didn't know I was kidding. I saw him type A.J. and was thinking "... the f*** is this?" He's not new. He just posts on (and stalks) a couple other sites more often.
  5. I'm not sure. Remember that scene in A League of Their Own where Tom Hanks and Geena Davis are both standing on the dugout steps giving signals and the batter keeps dancing in and out of the batter's box? That's kinda how I feel.
  6. QUOTE (T R U @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 03:40 AM) Thats always awesome isn't it? mine was at 106 today, and that was all the way until the sun went down.. man i hate texas so much I know a lot of you are like "oh its better than snow all the time" but you would change that tune quickly when its still in the 90's into November, like it was last year down here.. Its hotter than two squirrels f***in in a tube sock I'd take it. There's nothing good about snow.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 10:12 PM) IN the 21st century, who needs postal delivery? Not me. I have direct deposit but my physical check still comes through the mail. We still get a couple of bills via snail-mail and anyone that has a magazine subscription still needs it.
  8. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jul 22, 2011 -> 03:46 PM) The iPhone or the iPod touch doesn't work w/ the rice. I also had a friend who dropped his iPhone in the toilet, no dice. It's not a 100% sure solution for any phone. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. We got a cheap flip-phone for one of my kids and she lost it in our backyard in the middle of winter. We found it when the snow finally melted. Took it in, dried it out and it's worked fine ever since.
  9. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 22, 2011 -> 03:08 PM) Heh. You need to make that chart your sig. Might be too large but I'll see. I have it set so I can't see them anyway. EDIT: Done.
  10. According to my "Too soon to complain" chart we are currently at "Wait until the trade deadline" excuse.
  11. QUOTE (Special K @ Jul 22, 2011 -> 12:24 PM) Decent Dunn article... http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-triangle...se-of-adam-dunn Many people keep saying that he has to come out of it eventually. I keep leaning more towards this. Obviously we've never seen such an extreme case but it appears that Dunn has lost his ability to hit and may never regain it.
  12. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 22, 2011 -> 08:41 AM) Apparently they switch channels whenever our team is up to bat. Well at least they don't miss much.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 03:20 PM) I won't argue his response sucked. I just think it was an intentionally bad question asked in hopes of securing a sound bite. Agreed.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 03:11 PM) Dayan Viciedo hasn't played in front of him in four months. No, but he's the guy Sox fans have been wanting to bring up for the past 2 months. I can't believe Cooper is completely oblivious to that. He should've just taken the high road and said "I don't know, I'm not the one who makes that decision." or something like that. He was obviously in a bad mood from the beginning based on his answer to their other question which was actually about a pitcher.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 02:57 PM) See I don't think the question was "reasonable" from a common sense stand point. They could have asked him anything about the pitching staff. Anything. Instead not only do they ask him about a position player, but a position player who isn't even in Chicago, and not only that, but a guy who Cooper hasn't seen since March in all likelihood. The hosts were doing the radio equivalent of trolling, and Cooper took the bait. That isn't a question for the pitching coach, at all. How do you think the Score guys who would answered Cooper if he asked them about what was going on at Q101? That's not really a fair comparison. The guys at the Score aren't going to have a clue what's happening at another radio station. They asked him for his opinion about the struggling Sox offense and if a player that has been tearing up the minors could help. The offense that has been playing directly in front of him for the past 4 months. He said they need to score more runs so obviously he's watched them. He just decided to play dumb and act like he doesn't have a single clue about what's happening with the team other than the guys on the pitching staff. I really find that hard to believe.
  16. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 10:21 AM) If I was on the rooftops that's pretty close to what I would be probably. I assume the view isn't that great and with unlimited food and booze well, I would be getting hammered (not at a company event of course). I went last week to a Cubs game and was honestly the only one in the upper deck that could tell what was a good hit and what was just a pop up. I know it's a bit harder to tell up there, but seriously you should be able to read the difference between a shallow pop up and something going close to the warning track. It's easy to tell by just watching how the fielders react.
  17. QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 10:51 AM) I don't mind Coop having a meltdown; as somebody else pointed out, he's the one guy we KNOW is getting the job done and yeah, it's gotta suck putting that pitching out there and then watching us lose game after game because the Sox can't even score 2 runs, even against some no-name rookie pitcher. FWIW, that rookie pitcher has only given up 5 runs in 2 outings this year. Every other one he's given up 3 or less. So the Sox aren't the only team to not hit him.
  18. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 10:17 AM) And this is why Coop will not be offered the manager position if it becomes opened. He can't handle the media well at all. I was about to say this exact same thing. He's way too touchy and defensive. I even hear it in his voice when he talks to Ranger on the pre-game show.
  19. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 08:26 PM) I went to the game today for a company outing. We were on one of the rooftops. I swear, nobody there was actually watching the game. I know nobody cares since the Cubs suck, but seriously, you're at a baseball game, at least take a damn peak. In other news, water is still wet.
  20. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 04:51 PM) They could have made the Dark Tower series, which was recently canceled. There's still a chance somebody else picks it up. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 05:01 PM) If they're ever going to make another Stephen King movie, the simplest and possibly greatest would be Running Man. The movie that they did make was an abomination and had only the slightest resemblance to the book. That book was the first one I honestly did not want to stop reading. A movie that follows it pretty strictly would be both amazing and doable. I imagine that they would have to change the very ending, though. Agreed. I'd also like to see the Long Walk made into a movie. As long as they didn't veer too far away from the book.
  21. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 11:20 AM) Based on Dunn's career numbers, what makes you think this is his new norm? It wouldn't be the first time a professional athlete has lost the ability to do something they had been doing their entire career. Although the only examples I can think of are guys that had trouble throwing the ball, not hitting it. Chuck Knoblauch and Rick Ankiel.
  22. QUOTE (FlySox87 @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 09:04 PM) None of you live in the damned desert. Quit yer b****in'! I'm not. I'd much rather have to not mow my grass for 2 weeks than shovel snow every other day.
  23. I haven't had to mow my grass for 2 weeks.
  24. QUOTE (MAX @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 03:24 AM) You are assuming those people wouldn't want to talk to him if he took other actions. I realize that. I was just thinking about the fans that decided to keep other famous baseballs to sell them later. I don't remember them getting as much publicity. This guy seems to be getting so much because he did the "right" thing.
  25. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 02:43 PM) You are talking about intentionally hanging a jury just because you want to see another trial take place. Is it really illegal or just immoral and unethical? I'd imagine it'd be extremely difficult to prove somebody was doing that.
