Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey > Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. I also heard they are thinking of making a 3rd one.

Airplane 2. Horrible.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 10, 2011 -> 10:22 AM) scottmerkin Scott Merkin White Sox since ASB-- July 19: 3 under, 4.5 back. July 26: 2 under, 4.5 back, Aug. 2: 3 under, 5.5 back. Aug. 9: 1 under, 4 back That just shows how horrible the ALC has been all year.

Beavis and Butthead. Although they are coming back.

One of these days I need to sit down and watch a "best of" Simpsons episodes. I've always kinda liked the show but I've never loved it like so many people do. I remember watching it as a kid mostly because it was on Sunday nights right before MWC. I've watched a few episodes here and there over the years but it's never been a "must watch" show for me.

LBJ had Kennedy killed, believed Jackie

QUOTE (The Sir @ Aug 8, 2011 -> 07:15 PM) Interestingly enough, a dislike for Jackie O was my ultimate downfall at WSI. I don't think you're allowed to have a negative opinion about anything over there. -
If forced to narrow it down to just one, it would be Married With Children easily. 1A would be the Wonder Years. After that it gets difficult. Honorable mention to South Park, Beavis and Butthead, Family Guy, Rosanne, Home Improvement, That 70's Show and Sons of Anarchy. Also MST3K even though I've mostly seen them on DVDs rather than actually on TV.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 02:37 PM) How many more wins would we have if Dunn batted 9th and never against lefties? Zip. He has what, 3 hits against lefties this year? I would think that if you put just about any other player on the team in that spot they would have more than 3 hits. Some would come with RISP, which would lead to more runs scored which would probably lead to more wins.

QUOTE (MEANS @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 01:12 PM) thank you, this crap pisses me off, the Reds are a lot closer to Indy, I have Comcast Cable and I can't even get CSN, wtf? Anytime they are on ESPN they are blackedout.... QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 03:57 PM) You think that sucks... I'm outside the CSN viewing audience (can't get CSN with cable) but inside the national blackout area (can't watch it on ESPN/MLB Network when it's a national broadcast either).

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 02:05 PM) Id just wait and get her in the class in summer school or first semester next year, it won't kill your daughter to wait a little while longer no matter what she tells you. Actually, we are pushing her to get it sooner simply because I'm the only person in the house that can drive. It'll be nice to finally have a second driver. Summer school would suck because we have no way to get her there everyday. They don't offer driver's ed to Juniors as far as I know.

QUOTE (The Baconator @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 10:46 AM) For some reason that Darkest Hour movie is giving me a Langoliers vibe. Some unknown entity is destroying the world/mankind but we don't know what it is or how to defeat it. Having said that, nothing can be as bad as the Langoliers was so I'm still interested to see more about this. The Langoliers only destroyed "the past".

We registered our kids for school yesterday and we had assumed that our oldest would be taking Driver’s Ed sometime this year. Turns out since she is one of the younger kids in her class (turns 15 in 9 days) and there are way too many kids in the school district, she doesn’t. We talked to a counselor and there are about 20 kids ahead of her also waiting. But they base it on age so if 20 more kids show up and they are older, they get first dibs. Our only options are either 1) summer school next year 2) an independent driving school at nearly twice the cost or 3) simply waiting to see if an opening shows up before the second semester of school. The first two options require us finding transportation to and from as well. I’m torn because the driving school would be more expensive but she could get all her required driving time in by the time she turns 16. We just have to find a way to get her there for the classes. But there’s still that slight chance that some kids might drop driver’s ed for one reason or another and she could get it through school.

This sentence needs a comma or something.

Definitely more entertaining than the Sox the last few games.

I heard this news on the way home last night. I plan on watching the Married With Children episode "All Night Security Dude" as a tribute. RIP Spare Tire Dixon.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 01:34 PM) I am all in favor of good roster moves and De Aza is worth a shot, but Alejandro has one hit mind you since his recall. Of course it was a 2 run game winning homer, but still it is the only hit he has gotten Which is only 1 less than Rios has gotten in the same time frame. Although Rios has 1 less RBI in that same time frame.

QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 09:32 AM) Cheap Tablet. Anybody own one? I was going to buy my daughter a portable dvd player for the car. The kind that just attach to the head rest. I figure instead of spending 100 - 125 on that, maybe I can get a cheap tablet that she can have some interaction with, as well as watch movies. I certainly don't want a 200-400 tablet for a kid, but if I can get one for 150 or less, it's close to what it would cost for a dvd player and there's more she can do with it. Is it feasible to watch movies on a tablet? Is the battery life decent? Anybody have any ideas? I didn't think portable DVD players cost that much. I thought they were closer to $50. I just got one a few years ago with a carrying case for $30 on Black Friday.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 07:43 PM) The nights after hot days are so damn nice. This is why I would take this over any other season. Lately though it hasn't really been cooling off at night. Last weekend I was outside sitting in a chair at 10 PM and still sweating. But I love sleeping under a fan or in air conditioning.

My daughter's softball team went completely undefeated the entire year! They just won their last game of the end of the year tournament last night! It was a nail-biter that they had to pull off with 2 outs in the bottom of the 5th (they only play 5 innings) but they managed it.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 02:14 PM) False, bunting is not really swinging the bat. Plus, a pitch could still hit the bat without the batter swinging it. It can hit off the handle b the hands and go in fair play, or do an even crazier off the barrel of the bat as the player ducks from a pitch at them. I've seen it happen. Now we are arguing the semantics of a figure of speech.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 10:57 AM) I'd bet this is wrong. Just has to bounce off the catcher's glove. Honestly, I was thinking that the drop-third strike rule only applied when the batter swung at the ball. I don't think I've ever seen in come into play when the batter didn't swing. My first sentence is still true though. You can't hit the ball unless you swing the bat.

QUOTE (GREEDY @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 08:35 AM) A strikeout is a strikeout. It is ignorant, hillbilly logic to prefer that a player "go down swingin' ". That same idiotic logic helped run Nick Swisher out of town. I'm pretty sure the chances of hitting the ball go way up when you swing at strike three rather than watching it go by. In fact, I'm guessing no player in the history of baseball has ever gotten on base by watching strike 3 go by without swinging at it.

IIRC, Wal-Mart just had a suit like this against them and it was thrown out.

Looking at his defensive stats, he's actually been a worse RF this year than Quentin.
