Fisher and Call have little to no trade value as is.

    Collins homer. Also no strikeouts.

When does Luis Gonzalez get promoted to W-S?
  4. Relative to the Madrigal discussion. Eric Longenhagen @longenhagen 5m Kingery ascent, Albies doing his thing, Altuve, Gennett, Pedroia's career, Cesar Hernandez, Luis Urias killing Triple-A at age 20...how many is it gonna take before we stop caring that a guy is short if it's otherwise clear he's just good? Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN Mookie Betts: 22 extra-base hits, 13 walks, 13 strikeouts. JJ Cooper @jjcoop36 2m Agreed.
  5. Same. If neither make it to 4, I think I'm hoping for an under-slot Kelenic at this point.
  6. Dave: Kiley, Swaggerty’s average has dipped below .300 now, well off what he hit last year. Is he trying too hard to hit for power? And how concerned should teams be about how he’s hitting right? 2:34 Kiley McDaniel: Swing is more power-focused and he’s a little stronger and he also had a weeks long spell (when I first saw him this spring) when he was out of sync and off balance. Some clubs are a little worried about this performance but others point out that he’s hot again now (I’ll see him next week to get a better sense), while other teams are worried about some maturity issues. Eric and I know the specific instances the teams are citing, so we aren’t just taking their word for it, as we’re careful not to spread rumors about player’s makeup, especially right before what could be (but hopefully isn’t) their only payday.

  8. Hah. I certainly didn't expect this from Albies.
  9. The only criticism I see is a YouTube video you posted. I've yet to see any noteworthy concerns from any of the major credible publications. If his hit tool and swing mechanics were a glowing red flag, he wouldn't universally be seen as a top 5 draft guy, especially considering his lack of power projection. I'm taking any major criticism of his future hit tool with a grain of salt until it's echoed by more sources.
  10. Did I miss something? At what point did Madrigal's hit tool come into question? That is one of his carrying tools and the last thing I would be worried about.

    Cease. Hngh.
  12. I wonder how Yadier feels about him, as he is also a heralded member of the fun police.
  13. DirtySox replied to reiks12's topic in FutureSox Board
    Cease with 1 hit 8Ks through 5.

The hit tool and the K's were always going to be the question with him.
  15. MLB.com mock: https://www.mlb.com/news/projections-for-all-30-first-round-draft-picks/c-274577288?tid=151437456
  16. That was the mock.
  17. It goes Mize, Bart, Bohm, Madrigal. For what it's worth.
  18. 4 Nick Madrigal Oregon State2B Notes: Chicago’s rebuild is in full swing. Teams are wise to never draft for need, but it doesn’t hurt to sync up your talent. With Michael Kopech, Eloy Jimenez, Luis Robert, Zack Collins, Gavin Sheets and Micker Adolfo all in high Class A or higher, getting a fast-moving college bat would help further speed the upcoming talent infusion on the South Side. Nick Madrigal is back on the field and showing no signs of rust after a nearly two-month layoff with a wrist injury. He has one of the best resumes in this year’s draft class and is a relatively safe pick as a polished college hitter who plays up the middle.
  19. He's super interesting and is just having a monster of a year. Hit his 14th HR today off of Mize. I don't think I could chance popping him at #4, but he would definitely be on my radar in the 10 to 15 range.
  20. Sounds like we might get a Baseball America mock tomorrow.
  21. Basabe homer.
  22. Law chat today. Adam D.: Any early buzz about who the Giants might take at #2? I would like to see an upside play like Stewart, but it seems like the general strength of the college players near the top, combined with their refusal to play the rebuilding game makes them likely to go that route. Thoughts? Keith Law: The current buzz is that all or at least five of the top six picks will likely be college guys. I wouldn’t rule out Stewart – Dick Tidrow, whose opinion really matters in the Giants’ draft room, saw Stewart’s best outing – but I could see the picks going Mize (1), McClanahan, Bart, Bohm, Madrigal, India, or something similar to that. Bart could go anywhere from 2 to 9, Madrigal maybe 5-9, Bohm 3-6. Mize is atop just about everyone’s boards, even guys who don’t like the delivery.
