  1. It would be nice if Nestor could regain his stock this year. Needs to get back to missing some bats.
  2. Oh lord. That abomination of the White Sox introduction video made its way to Deadspin. Who thought that was a good idea?
  3. Nice to see Flowers punish that mistake pitch. I fully expect him to be just as or even more valuable than AJ this season, at a fraction of the cost.
  4. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 02:28 PM) Perez loves kicking our ass. Perez is legit.
  5. Finally. Spring training went on far too long. Best day of the year.
  6. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 1, 2013 -> 08:13 AM) You mean like where, as an obviously pro-Flowers guy, I stated he is absolutely the biggest question mark on this team? In this very thread? There is concern there, and there's certainly potential for him to bust, but there's also potential for him to be an incredibly valuable player, moreso than Pierzynski ever was. Flowers absolutely destroyed minor league pitching and was very good in the second half last year and I'm hopeful that he finally grew acclimated to major league pitching and he will be able to be be a force offensively. I absolutely realize there's a chance he can bust, but at some point in time, you need to let Flowers sink or swim. There really is no better year than this year. And stop using the Phegley argument. He's terrible. Look at his minor league numbers beyond his batting average. He is a bad singles hitter (.260) who doesn't walk a lot, and there are far greater concerns regarding his long-term health than there are Flowers. I like Phegley and think he can make it in this league, but if he is starting for the White Sox at any point this year for an extended period of time, they're in trouble. Adding to this, Phegley is brutal defensively other than throwing out runners. I'm not sure why anyone would be optimistic about his future with the Sox.
  7. People sure do get upset by PECOTA every year.
  8. Awesome. Was more than time to move on.
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 07:23 PM) According to Phil Rogers, the Sox are offering AJ one year $4 million. They obviously don't particularly care if he comes back. Glad to hear. Time to move on.
  10. With the value being acquired for starting pitching via trade, I really hope Quintana and/or Floyd are seriously being discussed with some teams.
  11. Tigers upped their offer.
  12. QUOTE (PolishPrince34 @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 09:52 PM) That's shocking!!! How they just gave up on Bauer? I think his stubbornness and not willing to change his pitching approach got him shipped out. Wish the White Sox would of jumped on that. I've heard similar things.
  13. Looks like Choo could be a Red soon. Kills the De Aza to Cinci speculation one would imagine.
  14. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 12:46 AM) Keep that clown in Miami please. He fits all of the criteria Bucket mentioned. Not sure what he'd cost or any other associated moves that would need to happen.
  15. It really sounds like Logan Morrison.
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 09:57 PM) Does Jay Bruce have questionable makeup? I don't think so. I didn't read Bucket's post before making mine.
  17. Royals Review should be a treat tonight.
  18. Wow. What an awful trade by KC. HUGE overpay.
  19. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 9, 2012 -> 03:45 PM) De Aza + Floyd, not just De Aza. And under no circumstances do I want Josh Hamilton on this team, not even if Hahn magically finds $25M in extra money to spend next season. I'm very curious as to what names have been floated regarding any trade talks involving Vicideo and/or De Aza.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 11:49 AM) The top base-stealer. Not many are sure if he will be able to hit enough to make it. He's also moved positions from SS/2B to CF. Not sure they need De Aza in the near future.
  21. QUOTE (GoGoSox2k2 @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 11:22 AM) Gonzo mentions the Reds are interested in De Aza, maybe we can get them to overpay for him since they were after both Span & Revere and missed out. Todd Frazier for 3rd base would be an interesting option?.. I would still love Mesoraco from the Reds.
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 6, 2012 -> 11:26 AM) Yeah, when I said available, I was thinking available via trade. I can't see it being Bourn either. One would think he means a LH with power...I have no idea... Headley or Logan Morrison? Not sure where LoMo would fit or if he's even an upgrade at this point.
  23. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 6, 2012 -> 11:15 AM) So who are the best LH hitters that could possibly be available other than Hamilton? I was assuming he was talking trade. I can't think of anyone but Bourn. And I'm not sure I'd call him a "big" hitter.
