QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ May 6, 2014 -> 12:44 PM) Do we know who the agents (advisors) are for Kolek and Aiken? Is it likely that Boras has all three? We probably would have heard if Aiken or Kolek had Boras. The current Boras players I know of are currently Rodon, Jackson, Fedde, and Conforto.

Id prefer Aiken or Kolek, but would be fine with Rodon at slot. Wouldn't be surprised if the Sox go for a Freeland or Nola at savings to spread money later if Rodon is what's left at 3 though.

Hoffman had a setback. Not making his planned start this week. Stay tuned.

Montas done. 5.0 IP, 3 H, R, ER, BB, 4 K Encouraging. I believe Parks has described his fastball as a motherf***er pitch.

So happy I get a reprieve from Hawk.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2014 -> 06:03 PM) Awesome, can't wait for us to overreact!! I'm more excited to see the rumors on who other teams are linked to. Barring something unforeseen we largely know which pool of players the Sox will be picking from. Thus far I've only really seen the Twins attached to Nick Gordon, and the Phillies with Gatewood. Should be fun. I love the draft.

BA's first mock draft will be up Thursday or Friday.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 5, 2014 -> 07:33 AM) Cubs would be taking Jackson, with Hoffman going to the Twins. Hmmmm.... This isn't a mock. These are draft rankings.

One month to the draft. Chris Crawford's updated board is up. http://mlbdraftinsider.com/2014/05/the-board-2014-volume-iv/

Kendall Rogers ‏@KendallRogersPG 1m #mlbdraft RT @StevensonFWST: #TCU LHP Brandon Finnegan could've pitched Sunday (he feels fine) but since #Frogs won 1st 2 games, will rest.

Wareham Gatemen ‏@WarehamGatemen 8m Sean Newcomb (@SeanNewk) tosses a complete-game gem for @HartfordHawks: 9 IP, 2H, 0R, 9K Newcomb supposedly looked fantastic today.

Little slow on that one Hawk.

Chris Crawford ‏@CrawfordChrisV 41s Rodon done. 6.2 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 8 K's, 107 pitches. Expand

Chris Crawford ‏@CrawfordChrisV 56s 6 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 7 K's so far for Carlos Rodon. 97 pitches, 8-0 game. Expand

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 2, 2014 -> 07:24 PM) So he's probably not hurt, I guess I'm wondering what his velocity is. Still bewildered at his big league showing.

Erik Johnson being the old EJ tonight. So far: 4.0 IP 2 H 6 SO 1 BB

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 1, 2014 -> 07:08 PM) Keith Law stated on Buster Olney's podcast (today's edition) that he thinks the White Sox will select Erick Fedde with the third pick right now. Said Hoffman's elbow pain is worrisome and will cause him to drop. That would be an ultra disappointing selection. Law did not say it with any sort of confidence, however. But I can understand Hoffman over Rodon if the medicals check out on Hoffman, but Fedde over Rodon would be disappointing. Interesting. Fedde also has Boras as an advisor. He's a legit 1st rounder but not worthy of the 3rd overall pick. One would have to assume the Sox would sign him at a savings if he's the selection, allowing them to grab a guy that falls to to the 2nd round. Still all rumors though.

Jose de Jesus Ortiz ‏@OrtizKicks 13m 2 scouting directors: Marlins and Cubs. 2 national cross checkers: Rockies & White Sox. 2 regional cross checker: Astros, Twins. #TylerKolek

No Hawkins it seems.

Other Boras clients in the 1st round are Jackson, Fedde, and Conforto. For what it's worth.

Micah with his 2nd walk of the night. 15 BB to 15 SO on the year. Love me some 1:1.

2 Walks and HR? Pull him. Can't get better than that!

Jeff Passan ‏@JeffPassan 3m Draft pop-up candidate: Spencer Adams, HS RHP in Georgia. 6-5, 180. Reminds scout of young Waino. FB 93-96. Distinct CB and SL, good change.

QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Apr 27, 2014 -> 07:53 AM) wtf happened to Johnson? Very disappointing. He seems very tentative and his fastball velocity is down. I'm wondering what the hell happened as well.

Kendall Rogers ‏@KendallRogersPG 1h #TCU commit and top #MLBDraft prospect Tyler Kolek hit 100 last night, and struck out 16. That’s pretty good. http://www.myfoxhouston.com/story/25347190...s-16-strikeouts … Expand KW was there.
