  1. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 02:34 PM) What is it about the team that shouts first in the AL Central? The Tigers aren't going anywhere and will remain incredibly strong. Couple that with the Wild Card routinely going to the AL East, and all the sudden 2nd - 5th in the AL Central don't really matter. I think the Royals will add a pitcher and finally jump the Sox this year. That team is set everywhere but a pitcher or two in the rotation. Not sold on Cleveland personally, but I can see the Twins and Sox at the bottom next year very easily.
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 02:22 PM) And KW is apparently trying to make my other post talking about the trades look completely false. At the moment Buehrle is gone and Danks and Floyd are beginning to look like deadline trades. Ugh.
  3. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 01:34 PM) I may have misheard the #, but he was talking about the Blue Jays' yet-to-be published 2012 top 30 prospects. He mentioned Molina would be the Sox's #2 and noted the difference between the two systems. Trust me, I hope I misheard him. If so, they really don't think he's going to end up a starter.
  4. Reposting for the ledge jumpers. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 01:03 PM) #18 in their system? That doesn't sound right. It isn't right. It was last year's ranking. BA hasn't done 2012 for the Jays yet. Sickels didn't have him on his top 20 last year, and he moved all the way to number 2 for 2012.

  6. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:51 PM) I've got high hopes for a pitcher with a strong splitter working with Coop. You and me both. But until then, I just go with the guys who know WAY more about these players than I do.
  7. Kevin_Goldstein Kevin Goldstein Remember all those people telling me Nestor Molina was a future one? That guy got you Sergio Santos. #NotAOne 3 minutes ago Favorite Retweet Reply Kevin_Goldstein Kevin Goldstein That's the thing, this is actually a pretty good trade for both side if you are realistic about what Molina is. 1 minute ago Favorite Retweet Reply
  8. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:42 PM) Supposedly this Molina kid has a plus splitter, and if you combine that with excellent command than yea, you have a potential all-star pitcher. It seems the overwhelming consensus is that he's a middle of the rotation guy. A number 3 as his ceiling. Could be a 2 though. I still like the trade.
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:24 PM) Unless you consider Dan Hudson and Chris Sale things that havent worked, I would say moving guys through the system quickly has been a decent philosophy of late. Perhaps. No starting minor league time for Sale could hurt though. We'll see this year. I'd also argue that Beckham being rushed hurt as well. I hope Kenny sticks to what he said in that he won't rush him. Do him like the Rays do. If rebuilding, this team isn't doing anything next year anyway.
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:20 PM) He's a AA guy at this point. I am guessing they accelerate this guy to a debut late this year or next. I sure hope not. Let him develop. Lord knows rushing guys hasn't worked in the past. Especially if we are indeed rebuilding.
  11. cst_Cowley cst_Cowley KW said Sox won't rush Molina. "It is a start of a rebuilding now." 13 seconds ago Favorite Retweet Reply
  12. Is Nestor the only piece? I would have thought you could squeeze another fringy piece in for Santos.

  14. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 11:25 AM) If they traded who i think they will trade here is the lineup you will most likely see: 1. De Aza 2. Alexei 3. Dunn 4. Konerko 5. Viciedo 6. AJP/Flowers 7. Rios 8. Gordo 9. Morel 1. Buehrle 2. Humber 3. Peavy 4. Sale 5. Stewart/Whoever You dont think that team at least has a chance to compete within this division? Has a chance to compete, but a small one. 4/5 of that rotation could be awful. We still don't know what Humber will do as an encore (I think he's a back of the rotation piece), Sale will probably have some growing pains as he enters the rotation for the first time, Stewart is a wildcard who might profile better as a reliever, and Peavy could continue to Peavy. On top of that you need to bank on Rios and Dunn bouncing back, Dayan to not miss a beat, as well as Morel and Gordon to progress offensively. Sure the team could be competitive, but so many things have to work out. It's just as likely to be battling the Twins for the cellar. I'm of the opinion that losing both Danks and Floyd would severely hurt this team's chances.
  15. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 10:47 AM) I wonder if Belt would be part of the trade.. Brown would be a great pick up as well. Brown sure, would be shocked on Belt.
  16. QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 10:15 PM) Marks gonna get mucho phat offers. I think it'd be cool if he wound up in St. Louis. Miami would be cool - here would be cool. Niiiiiice. If St. Louis is in it, it's over.

  21. QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 08:35 PM) Good news for the fans that want Buehrle back at any cost... The Nationals offered Wilson six years. If he takes that, and the Marlins don't offer Buehrle a no-trade clause, it could be good for his chances to return. I wonder if Buehrle would then wait out the Pujols/Cardinals saga. If Pujols leaves, then the Cards may do some other stuff to open room for Buehrle. Not likely, but not impossible. The Rangers are very interested in MB according to recent reports. 6 years to CJ Wilson is quite ridiculous imo.
  22. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 08:33 PM) Toronto's got an interesting prospect in David Cooper I think his name is...... He's not very good. Fringy prospect that is a product of the PCL.
  23. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 06:00 PM) I wouldn't doubt it. To be truthful, I wouldn't blame the guy either. He's getting long in the tooth and I know he wants to get a chance for one more ring before he retires. Well if that's true then maybe Alonso IS on his way here. But he's not good defensively? That's no good. I believe Alonso is considered a decent to above average 1B. Though I don't think PK is going anywhere.
