  1. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Aug 12, 2010 -> 12:21 PM) Besides, I can't improve on this level of perfection... Those are some really good looking jeans. That's what we're looking at, right?
  2. I laughed when I heard "Master Sargent" just because I find the word "Master" in a title humorous. Rest of video really pulled on my heart strings though.
  3. The only one I think that will forever haunt Kenny are Swisher I & II. The list of good deals Kenny has made far outweighs the bad.
  4. Knights game was on SportsCenter Top 10.
  5. QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 09:42 PM) I think having a vagina generally sucks more all-around than having a penis. Maintenance on those things is a b****. I think this conversation is teaching me that hermaphrodites have it worst.
  6. QUOTE (RME JICO @ Aug 12, 2010 -> 01:36 AM) Just pitching for 7 years hardly constitutes anything. You could also say he has been on 5 teams in 7 years. Also, the All-Star nod was crazy in 2009, he was good, but not an All-Star. There were numerous more deserving players, and All-Star appearances, like Gold-Gloves are not really an indication of true talent or performance. I don't mind that the Sox traded for him, but there is no way you give up Hudson AND another prospect while adding salary. That is just fail anyway you look at it. Arizona got over big time. At his age, equivalent pitchers are Kyle Lohse and others like the infamous Daniel Cabrera. Not really good company. Who Coop couldn't fix. So far, it looks like he's helped Jackson. Edit: Also, a guy I know who works for the Sox said around the office it was thought that Hudson was a fourth starter at best and had a lot to prove. Take that for what it's worth, because I do think Hudson will be a good #2 or #3 in the NL
  7. QUOTE (RME JICO @ Aug 12, 2010 -> 01:23 AM) Define more talented and a better starting pitcher. Jackson hasn't done anything his entire career in the majors or minors outside of the crazy 200 pitch no-hitter. He is an average pitcher at best, with a 4.69 Lifetime ERA, 1.51 WHIP in the bigs, and with similar numbers in the minors, 4.39 ERA, and 1.38 WHIP. Hudson has already showed more promise with lights out numbers in the minors (2.65 ERA and 0.98 WHIP) and very solid numbers in the bigs so far 3.47 ERA, 1.23 WHIP. There is no way you make this trade straight up like KW did while adding salary and giving up another prospect. This is definitely one trade that KW is going to regret. Also, Jackon's experience and 6.10 ERA and 1.68 WHIP in September is really going to come in handy in a pennant race. While I thought it was an overpay, Jackson has pitched for 7 years and was an All-Star. To say he hasn't done anything simply isn't fair.
  8. Soxbadger is writing some great posts/essays in this thread.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 10:46 PM) Neither is Lilly all of the sudden. And Kotsay still isn't.
  10. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 04:42 PM) ..... No you wouldn't. Dude, it's the Nats.
  11. I would be heartbroken if Paulie or Buehrle led another team over the Sox to the WS.
  12. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 10:17 PM) Yea... THEN WHERES OUR LIRIANO?! Danks, Floyd, or Jackson?
  13. QUOTE (KipWellsFan @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 09:31 PM) Yes, please, yes! That rocks. What is he using now anyways? It's probably cool if he leaves the Outfield just for his hits. He's using Seek & Destroy by Metallica (per Paulie's choice). Outfield plays for hits.
  14. Smokin' Danks (That's in Rocks sig right? It just fits him too well and is better than D1). Also, bet moment of game was while I was driving and Mauer got a base hit and DJ said "Well played Mauer"
  15. http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-r...wn---akhil-amar I love how Stephen Colbert makes sense while being quite hilarious.
  16. I have a couple examples that hit close to home for me; 1) A teacher in my school district is from Brazil, but he was born in New York City just so when he grew up he could move back to the US and not have to go through the long process of naturalization. He's got dual citizenship, pays his taxes, and is a good man in every regard. 2) A friend of mine was born in Mexico and she and her parents came over on a visa when she was 2 months old. She essentially grew up here, but can't be a citizen because she is still waiting (for about the fourth or fifth year now) to take the citizenship test. Her brother was born here, and they have a home and everything and help the school district out with numerous things each year. Would it be right to deny her brother citizenship. Heck, you could make an argument to make it a little bit easier for under 18 year olds to become citizens, like my friend while she was still in high school.
  17. If the Mets did a Linebrink - Beltran swap, I'd do it without thinking.
  18. Chances Dayan takes Perkins deep?
  19. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 10:59 AM) here's the silliest thing about running Rios (or anyone) with two outs and Konerko up: In the case of a homer, triple ,double or walk, it doesn't matter whether Rios is on second base or 1st base. The only time it matters is if Paul singles. Konerko has a combined 2518 hits+walks. He has 1402 total homers, triples and doubles, and walks combined. He has 1116 singles. In other words, there's around a 60% chance if Paul reaches that it doesn't matter whether Alex is on first base or second base, and that's before you even factor in CS percentage. Secondly, why the f*** are you playing for 1 run, down 5? Dumb, dumb, dumb. If Konerko kept that first inning going longer, who knows what happens last night. But how will Paulie be able steal if Rios is only on second and not third?
  20. IS JOSIE BACK ON VACATION?! SHE BETTER BE MOTHER****ERS. Edit: It does play after he gets a base hit for what its worth still.
  21. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 07:12 AM) First off, it said this: That doesn't mean the entire amendment. There are several clauses in the 14th amendment, not just the citizenship one. And secondly to the bolded, no it wouldn't. The clause was added to ensure that freed slaves and their children were guaranteed citizenship. Prior to this, if you were born to American parent(s) you were a citizen. And frankly, I'd have no problem with tweaking this a bit, because after everyone get's done complaining about it, the thought behind makes sense. It has definitely been exploited in ways this was not meant for in recent years. Regarding the bolded, I was unsure on how it would effect it since back then they didn't have citizenship rules (as far as I knew). Now I do. I'm honestly on the fence for this one. On one hand, it prevents people from being born here and just leaving and maybe coming back. On the other, some come back to work and live here as a legalized citizen and I can't see much wrong with that.
  22. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 06:58 AM) I wonder if he's fully recovered from his injuries and he just has to get his timing and confidence back? Can you imagine if we claimed him and he did get back to his 2006 - 2008 form next year? Wow. I would call up Mike Rizzo and laugh.
