  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 14, 2010 -> 12:10 AM) So it's really true? There's got to be more to it. I remember hearing this back in February but I refused to believe it was that simple. If so, Lebron is an idiot if he resigns. That was really it, and because they liked how Jamison could shoot threes.

QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ May 13, 2010 -> 02:19 PM) Hence my initial internet joke...which fell as flat as kate hudson playboy spread. *Ba-dap-cha!*
  3. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 13, 2010 -> 11:40 PM) lol, seriously Also: http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id...-3-gms-think-so It's kind of hard to process what that lineup would actually be able to accomplish if this were to happen... that's not just a contender, that would be comparable to the 80s Celtics, Magic's Lakers, and 90s Bulls. This would lock up the East for the Bulls until about 2017 and then when the players get older it might get competitive again. It'd be like playing the Eastern All-Stars. It wouldn't even be fair. They could match the Bulls single season record.
  4. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 13, 2010 -> 05:53 PM) Originally posted here: here. From looking at these statistics, it simply looks like we are a terrible hitting team. It makes you wonder about the approach of these hitters: Ozzie wanted a athletic, fast lineup and he got that exactly as we excel in stealing bases as a team, we are a decently patient team where it comes to walks, right in the middle of the bunch. Surprisingly for me we strikeout the least out of all baseball teams yet we can't get on base at a decent clip. One conclusion I come to is: terrible approach when it comes to hitting, I don't know who is to blame for this but maybe the 'fire Walker' threads have some basis here. With the White Sox it's constant 'swing for the fences' approach that's why we are up there with HR's but everything else is a pop up or a grounder to infielders. I mean look at the hitting stats other than HRs, absolutely brutal. The hitting philosophy of this team needs a change so we can start scoring runs and winning games. Discuss. Translation: Crappy luck + No Power = GRINDY
  5. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 13, 2010 -> 01:32 PM) 3D Dot Game Heroes is getting some glowing reviews, very good to see. Got it today, and for the $40 price tag, its wonderful. For fans of Kingdom Hearts: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4523596/1/King..._Honest_Version
  6. James having his conference now. He looks disappointed (in both himself and the team) and drained.
  7. Wilbon slamming Cleveland right now, saying "EVEN THE CLIPPERS would be better for a title pursuit. This blow will be the most franchise crippling ever since the Bulls Dismantling. Also, for the crazy trade scenario if you can't get a sniper like Allen. Deng for Ben Gordon. I miss Ben .
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 13, 2010 -> 08:00 PM) Sort of. The one justification given for 3B was his arm strength, and reports he was timed at 89-92 MPH by various guns at tryouts. 1B, because of his height and being RH'ed, maybe not a natural fit either. I'm thinking LF. As long as we don't have Teahen, Viciedo, Josh Fields and Alex Gordon all trying to defend positions, our future D should be okay. Well, actually Gordon would be fine with me as a "speculative" replacement for Konerko at 1B. Definitely, I'd take him in a heartbeat over Teahen at 3B. Speaking of Royals/Sox trades, whatever happened to Tyler Lumsden and Daniel Cortes, those guys didn't work out so well, did they? It seems Cortes was a Top 40-60 prospect not so long ago, and now you never hear about him. Sergio #2 if the hitting doesn't pan out

QUOTE (flavum @ May 13, 2010 -> 07:58 PM) Short 2-3, .409. He has 65 hits in 34 games. Thats just not fair to pitchers.
  10. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 13, 2010 -> 10:38 PM) Everybody I know in CHICAGO wants LeBron. Chris Broussard live on ESPN now hyping the LeBron to Bulls talk, praising our team and putting up ideas for a S&T to get Deng out of here. I just saw this. I'd die from joy to get Luol out of town, especially for another big piece. Quick question: Lets say theres a sign-and-trade for Bosh for Taj & Kirk, does his lack of D, losing Taj & Kirk's D, taking up remaining cap for bench pieces (a sniper?) get balanced out by his scoring? Plus, that would move LeBron to SG, but that doesn't matter.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 13, 2010 -> 12:18 AM) Does Walker get any credit for PK, Jones and Rios? No, hitting coaches are only responsible for those who suck.
  12. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/ct-sp...,6820249.column What the **** Jerry, what the ****.
  13. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ May 12, 2010 -> 11:11 PM) This is what I think. A lot of people "hate" Lebron but if he was on your team you'd love him. As well as all of the stuff that makes him an "egomaniac" etc. all of the other BS that people complain about. The guy has fun playing ball. Who cares if he has his little routine & dancing & handshakes. If you wanna stop him from doing it, then beat him. See Pierzynski, AJ.

This will end in a lawsuit when some guy starts screwing a hologram in public.

Someone in the catch all said if Short hits .400, they could care less about how much he walks. I agree.
  16. QUOTE (knightni @ May 12, 2010 -> 08:30 PM) Yes, there are others. I wouldn't dislike getting LeBron, but Wade is a better fit, IMO. James is a sore loser, a child and really obnoxious; he's also arguably the best player under 28 in this league. This. I think about it, and I hate the prospect of LeBrons attitude. But winning forgives all, and with Rose being 21, Noah being 25, and LeBron being 25, you'd have a 5 year window at least where you could absolutely dominate the leauge.
  17. Oh silly Ozzie. And pretty sure Pinella is No. 193
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 12, 2010 -> 04:26 PM) http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=Aobt...liersunraveling God let the Celtics win tomorrow. Yes Cleveland, boo the one man who could end your city long drought and help him decide to leave. Also, allow LeBron to pick his coach.
  19. According to Sam Smith, sources around the league are saying LeBron is now taking the Bulls very seriously. If its a sign and trade, he has LeBron to Lakers for Odom/Bynum or the Bulls for Deng/Taj/1st. If it's just a signing then he has the Bulls being #1, and trying to trade Deng for a PF. The second I can, I sign LeBron, then call up the Suns or Wolves, who have both liked Deng in the past. Offer up Deng, a first, and maybe JJ in a sign-and-trade or normal trade for Stoudemire or Jefferson respectively. I lean towards Jefferson, as he would be cheaper. If they get Jefferson, sign Ray Allen and Brad Miller with the leftover money, then to round out the bench, sign Alexander, Pargo, Richard, someone else to minimums to round out the team. A starting lineup of Rose/Hinrich/LeBron/Jefferson/Noah with Taj/Allen/Miller coming off the bench would be near impossible for any team in the league to keep up with.
  20. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ May 12, 2010 -> 10:52 AM) I used any oil that was available. Even motor oil or cooking oil. They didn't have microwaves back when I was in Little League. Don't the have those metal rings for the laces anymore? I would think your glove would start to spark in the microwave. Nah, it's all leather, so it worked beautifully.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 12, 2010 -> 03:37 PM) Quentin is trying to hit ever ball over the LF foul pole right now. He'll find his stroke, and will become more selective eventually, same with Beckham. The way its going, the way its going, when they start to hit, Konerko, Rios and Jones may struggle. That sounds like our type of luck. But god, if GQ could start hitting like they should, that'd give us 5 good bats, plus Slappy who is beginning to hit. That combined with warm weather for Alexei leaves AJ & Teahen
  22. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 12, 2010 -> 12:42 AM) You take that back! Yes, that show was terrible, but she is a dime now. Oh, she is indeed hot, now, but when I was like 8, that was one of my favorite shows.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 11, 2010 -> 08:41 AM) It actually surprises me how poorly he's hit against some of these guys. It figures. We can contain the Twins best player, but when it comes to their crappy no-namers, we'll get slaughtered. Also, LOL @ the Thome comment by Bobby.
  24. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/stor...&id=5173365 I recently bought a Rawlings Renegade, and I've been trying to 'naturally' break it in for about 3 weeks to little avail. Then I tried a variation of Rowand's method and doused it in hot water, than put it in the microwave for 30 seconds. It's a lot softer now, and its sitting under my mattress with a baseball tied in it to shape it right now. Funnily enough, the tan parts of the glove went from tan to dark brown, and I like the look a lot more. How does everyone else break in their gloves?
  25. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ May 11, 2010 -> 06:29 PM) Typical bulls*** move by MLB. Supposedly the AAA park that sits 18,000 in Buffalo was available those days. The smart thing to do would have been to move the series there, I'm sure they could probably sell it out. But of course, Selig has to go for the cash grab and have it in Philly. Same situation as Astros/Cubs in Milwaukee two years ago. I hate when Selig does this. Poor Jays fans that wanted to see Doc again.
