Fingers crossed, because he's very easy to root for.

I thought Zaleski had a good record as a pitching coach before he got to Charlotte, which is understandable since it's a bandbox where Rick Hahn dumps AAAA arms. But he just skipped AA as a pitching coach. I remember him briefly helping Hansen fix himself before he imploded again. I wonder if he should be in Bham with actual prospects and not fodder?
  3. By God, that's Marco Paddy's music
  4. This sounds like planning and foresight. We don't do that round here.
  5. Back to trade rumors. I demand more trade rumors.
  6. Where is my option to convert Colas to a reliever?!
  7. In Fegan's (woo! Go Sun-Times for hiring our dude!) article, he says he'd be willing to go down to AAA and prove he can be starter. I think that's laudable. Let him build the innings there. Right now the team my intend on "competing" next year, but no one can possibly imagine that meaning more than the horrendous AL Central. The pressure is off next year, so the lessons for next year's FO (be it Hahn, Getz, or, mercifully, someone from outside the org) should be: Santos and Middleton show you don't need to waste draft capital or money on a bullpen + you need as much starting depth as humanly possible. Let him go to Charlotte and see if he can succeed.
  8. Tim is the guy who looks the best in that jersey. Regardless, long overdue for our man ?

I mean, if Quero wants to go on a heater in Birmingham and do this a lot, I won't be mad:
  10. It seems that the industry consensus on Lee is that there is no consensus.
  11. I would like an experienced manager with no previous ties to the Sox organization, but instead to a winning organization.

    Let him sauté!
  13. My ideal plan was: 1. Fire sale for good talent 2. Smoldering remains of the White Sox start playing well cause sure 3. Win lotto

Bless you @Timmy U for these updates
  15. Rick Hahn excels at two things: Tear downs and extending young players So he definitely needs to be gone after this.
  16. If you want to see reactions from Dodgers fans
  17. show @cameron_2313 who's boss, Declan
  18. Maddux Bruns cause he's a lefty with First Round Pedigree ™ and Rayne Doncon
  19. Paulie was actually trading for a prospect coming off a down year in Cincinnati and hoping that he'd bounce back. Never played in the Sox minor league system. The 2005 roster was ramshackled together with basically everything - the strong farm system like you highlight - some good (but not blockbuster) FA signings, and career years from guys. Someone else highlighted it in another thread that it probably validated to Kenny and JR that you can win by going cheap, because they didn't need to sign a big free agent. Then they were strong for the first half of 2006 before they absolutely cratered out in 2007. Then they drafted Gordon - and in the same draft they got the future Assistant Director of Player Development, Kenny Williams Jr, in the Sixth Round.
  20. See, I stand by my thoughts that the Sox are actually OK at finding talented players. They're horrendous at developing though. Like possibly the worst in the majors. Look at how many players left the org and have soared elsewhere AND look at how many talented players have come here, including on the current team, and just imploded.
  21. For real, we should be jazzed that the Angels decided that they're going all in and becoming the 2016 Sox instead of trading Ohtani and just losing him for nothing. Like, they've not made the playoffs since 2018 despite having two GOAT level players. Maybe their injured players return and Gio helps them out, but history is against them.
  22. So do the Sox, but here we are with Montgomery and Schultz. MLB and BA have Quero as a back half of the top 100 guy.
