  1. I mean, I'd take a Top 4 pick. Suggs could be anywhere in top 4, but I'd be ecstatic with Green or Kuminga, then going full court press for Ball.
  2. If the Sox win a series against the Rays while down Eloy, Robert, Kopech, Moncada, Madrigal, Fry, Hamilton, a hobbled Eaton, Grandal's average still sub-.200 (even if he's the god of walks), the bullpen still figuring itself out, Vaughn and Mercedes hitting the rookie wall, and Abreu in a slump ... I'd say we're in a pretty good spot.
  3. The team is 22nd in home runs - but has the 3rd best offense in terms of fWAR and the best run differential in the league. They're probably the best offense in the league at manufacturing runs.
  4. So despite the odds, the Sox have the top ranked bullpen by fWAR and FIP. The WAR is impressive because they're ranked dead last in innings pitched.
  5. I'm saying Yermin gets some leash until Eloy gets back. If he proves something by then, then fantastic, you've got a big bat on the bench and try to figure out what to do from there.
  6. This. These dudes got thrust into the spotlight and now the league is adjusting. Give them some time to adjust back.
  7. I want him before this, but if his return lines up with the Field of Dreams game it'd be foolish to not have him walk out of the cornfield.
  8. Any chance 2020's weird schedule could be having an effect?
  9. How dare you criticize Tony La Russa's decision to put Vaughn in the game for Goodwin.
  10. Finally, La Russa is showing that he understands the modern game. I'm talking about Tim Anderson at catcher.
  11. Let's assume Cespedes developmentally by not getting to Birmingham right away. Let's get silly for a second: SS - Anderson 2B - Madrigal 3B - Moncada 1B - Abreu / Mercedes DH - Jimenez / Mercedes C - Grandal / Collins / Mercedes CF - Robert LF - Vaughn / Jimenez RF - Cespedes. But more a few other options: Pop Vaughn in RF and test Robert's gold glove abilities. Just have Engel ready to go at all times for either corner. Sheets or Rutherford until (hopefully) Colas or Cespedes are ready. They don't have to be great, just hold the fort down.
  12. The mega rebuild. Think of the absolute hauls we can get. We'll dominate the 2030s. Unless those prospects get hurt, in which case, we dominate the 2040s.
  13. Dear. Lord. At this point I'm convinced Herm was a dark wizard.
  14. Oh yeah, I'm talking right now, not at the deadline.
  15. Oh yeah, I'd most def do this for Marte, but I don't think it comes close. I think you'd need to basically upgrade the first three from Kelley to Crochet, Sanchez to Burger, and Vera to Dalquist or Thompson. If Kelley had been dominating so far, Sanchez been raking, etc. different story.
  16. Can we trick the D-Backs into hiring TLR again so he'll trade us Ketel Marte for Yolbert Sanchez and ReyLo?
  17. Barons hat (especially the Jordan era hat) is better than most MLB hats. Great taste.
  18. We definitely addressed it one page back.
  19. I get that Cespedes is a high profile case, but visa issues can take much, much longer than that. Visa reviews can take months. The US immigration system is a complete and utter mess.
  20. Outside of the Chicago Y, it's just so painfully boring. It's as if someone saw the Mariners and was like "that looks good, connect it to Chicago somehow."
