Why your favorite team can’t be more like the Rays
Quin replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
We can't be the Rays because we...locked up our young talent? Woe is us. -
We've gotten plenty of press for our Hall of Fame manager.

Cease is good.

6/6| White Sox vs Tigers | 1:10PM CT | TLR 2nd All-time Win Watch!
Quin replied to ron883's topic in 2021 Season in Review
It's almost laughably bad. -
65th all time in win percentage. Tied for 6th in World Series - but we should probably dock him the A's World Series due to the rampant cheating. 3rd all time in playoff appearances. And if McDowell is correct, then Tony's entire first White Sox tenure is as tainted as the Astro's recent run. I'd might have given TLR the benefit of the doubt if he actually denied the camera system instead of a weak deflection. So sure, TLR's got the second most numerical wins, built on the backs of steroids and and cameras.

When do I get the TLR-Yermin buddy cop film.

At this point it looks like McCann should thank Grandal for helping him secure a fat payday by letting him get the most favorable matchups possible.

Lmao, alright Eduardo. Your trolling transcended just that one nickname.

And our bullpen still trying to figure out what the hell is going on. -
Pulled Keuchel after 80 pitches because ... who knows.

I'll just get it out of the way: Yermin bailed out La Russa lmao.

Jose was playing the long game when he tagged up. He wanted Yermin to hit a walk off to get out of his slump. -

Nick Madrigal is our new lord and savior. -
While our dudes are definitely using stuff, you an also account for: - Adding Lynn - Cease has a new pitching coach - Rodon deciding to care about baseball and remember he had his stuff from college.

I'd take a placeholder RF until (fingers crossed) Cespedes or Colas are ready.

White Sox Winner! 1st Game of the Infamous Trap Series!

For real, I would also like Dylan Cease to become a Cy Young contender, but like damn, give him time. -
White Sox Winner! 1st Game of the Infamous Trap Series!
Quin replied to ron883's topic in Pale Hose Talk
He held Boston to two runs and struck out 6. The only other good teams he's faced were the Yankees and Cleveland and yeah, those weren't pretty. But because he slaughtered middling-to-bad teams, you're holding that against him? If he were on the Padres, you'd be making an entire thread about him. -

Dylan Cease is currently the 27th best starter in baseball if you go by fWAR. Traditional stats he has 11.20 K/9 and a 3.79 ERA. If Dylan Cease were the 5th starter on the 2006 White Sox, they'd have won the World Series. -
There's only been 5 games all year where Rutherford hasn't gotten a hit. In two of those games he still reached via walks. Definitely intrigued by what's going on there.

Honestly just thought Grandal walked off before the ump could decide if the pitch was a ball or strike. -
We have no idea if Vaughn is vaxxed or not, but we do know that the Sox have at least 95% of the team vaccinated. The Yankees were in the same boat and had a small outbreak. Vaccines aren't 100% efficacy, especially if they all got J&J.

Lance is an insane man. I love it. -
If Cubs fans didn't care, they would shrug it off completely, but I have friends who love the Cubs that bring it up constantly. Twins are definitely the primary rival - there was legitimate hatred between the teams, especially when Mauer and Morneau were around. #3 kind of rotates between Indians, Tigers, and Royals in that order, whoever is best at the time. If no one is doing particularly well, that's the default order based on history.
