If AK pulls that off, the Bulls could (I believe, because the cap if fucking confusing) keep Thad and Theis.

Rumor comes from this passage, so, take it for what it's worth: https://theathletic.com/2745940/2021/08/02/hollinger-as-nba-free-agency-opens-what-im-hearing-and-what-teams-actions-are-saying/

That’s a White Sox Winner, take the series from the Guardians
Hell yeah! Give me all the high OBP, defensive stalwart dudes, regardless of handedness! (I don't think the Sox would have matched Luzardo in a trade, but, c'est la vie)

So Marte with 7 homers in 293 plate appearances >>> Brian Goodwin with 6 homers in 156 plate appearances. The expectations would be very high on Marte if we traded for him, a lot like they are on Moncada, no? Where would we have put him the lineup if we're having such struggles finding a spot for equally high OBP players like Moncada?

Great point, we do expect a lot from Moncada, Timmy, and Abreu! They're currently the first, second, and fourth most valuable White Sox position players. Yes, Moncada hasn't made the baseball go brrrr, but he gets on base a lot and saves a lot of runs. You were also cool with us acquiring Starling Marte if we didn't get Gallo. Marte has less homers than Moncada, so I guess homers didn't matter in his case?

I like Goodwin and while watching his at-bat on the subway platform actually felt like he was gonna hit a walkoff. Dude fits this team's attitude like a glove and I want him in October because when he does cool shit, it electrifies the stadium. My problem is it went like this: Any time a left-hander hits a home run, Lillian immediately ignores that defense / OBP is a part of the game and starts pounding the desk like J. Jonah Jameson asking for pictures of Spider-Man, ragging on Moncada and singing the lefties praises.

Luis Robert cleared for Rehab Assignment
Just checked. You're right.

Luis Robert cleared for Rehab Assignment
If Hahn is convinced to keep the roster together: Lambert --> Roberts Sheets --> Lamb Zavala --> Grandal Rosters expand: Hamilton and Sheets return. You're then carrying 15 position players and 13 pitchers, when I feel like I'd rather make it 14/14 and get pitchers some rest. They could be planning some IL trips position players some rest.

We will see what this team is made of…
Even if the Sox go something wonderful like 10-6, SoxTalk will go bananas in those 6 games.

2020 NBA Regular Season Thread
Bulls are reportedly aiming at both Ball and Rose. If Rose continues being the Rose of the past few years, he's probably a pretty good spark plug off the bench. But I have ... no idea how they get both of them + keeping ANY of Coby, Sato, Theis, Thad, and (way less important, but idk how they shed him) Aminu. I'd love to keep Thad and Theis, but unless the capologist they brought on board knows some arcane tricks, I've got no clue.

MiLB.TV is $30 for the rest of the year and all four of the Sox affiliates stream their games. If the Sox aren't on, I'll usually put one of these games on in the background. You have to really enjoy the minors to get your worth.

Yup. They gotta use this time to rest, gel, and gear up for October. Don't get overtly complacent and blow the biggest lead in baseball, but prepare for the bloodbath that will be the AL playoffs.- 7/31 Games
I was about to make a joke about him being motivated now that there's a job opening at the MLB level, but then I saw that he's hitting .474/.512/1.065 in Birmingham. I know it's only 10 games worth of at bats, but what the fuck Yolbert.- 7/31 CWS v CLE 6:10 PM CDT
Did what he could.- 7/31 CWS v CLE 6:10 PM CDT
Gavin battling hard.- Sox Acquire Kimbrel; Madrigal, Heuer to Cubs
You know what blows my mind? The Dodgers and Rays, the World Series teams with prospect firepower far outweighing the Sox (ESPECIALLY the Rays) were looking at Kimbrel and the Sox beat that by just saying "fine, take our second baseman of the future. We're not wasting this window." I was a Nick fan and I love that, because Nicky was the most expendable of the core.- AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Hell yeah. Cleveland was all about caring for Abreu. I appreciate La Russa's mad dash to plate and also completely understand Cleveland's team misinterpreting that. But everyone acted like grown ups after that and instead of fighting returned to worrying about a guy hit in the head. Then they hugged it.- Sox Acquire Kimbrel; Madrigal, Heuer to Cubs
That league average bat in our lineup is a switch-hitting gold glover on pace for 30 home runs - and he's hitting eighth behind Anderson, Moncada find his rhythm, Abreu, Eloy, Grandal, Robert, and Vaughn. After him is a combo of Goodwin, Sheets, and Engel. We've seen with this lineup that hitting is contagious, especially those homers. With Eloy, Grandal, and Robert coming back, Cesar lighting a fuse is gonna be real fun.- Fernando Tatis Jr. thread
Keeps dislocating it. Don't 100% quote me on this, but after he dislocated it from his swing, surgery was recommended - basically was told it'll keep happening, but each time would be worse than the last if he doesn't have surgery. Surgery would be season ending. He and the team took the gamble on this one. - 8/1 Game Thread Sox vs Guardians 1:10
