Could the Sox rebrand as lovable losers?
I love this team, but I also hate this team, so I feel like that branding would be a tall order for the general public.

You had the power to start a new one instead of bumping this one in October, but ok

Free Tim Elko (Back in Jail)
There was part of me that was thinking Getz was beginning to get it with the Smith, Meidroth and Quero and Workman moves. I know Quero was Hahn's parting gift, but at least Getz didn't dither on actually calling him up. And then he does something stupid like this.

Soxtalk mourns the passing of our beloved friend Alex (Heads)
I'm learning that I have friends outside of Soxtalk who knew Alex. So many loved him.

Soxtalk mourns the passing of our beloved friend Alex (Heads)
Man, when I first started posting here Heads was (and continued to be) a pillar and now scrolling through and not seeing his yellow profile picture, especially during the college football season, is going to be a strange feeling. Rest in peace, Alex.

The White Sox are pioneers in the field of negative player development.

Who do we trust more, McCann (who we know prepared for games pretty meticulously) or a guy that Vaughn beat out for a role in the minors? Obviously, it may have changed after Vaughn's rookie year when he's trying to prove himself.

New City-Connects: Bulls / Sox collab
tbh, sprinkling in some Sirius here and there on City Connect days wouldn't be the worst idea

Free Tim Elko (Back in Jail)
Cause Sox drama is required by law to be messy, I'm waiting for the twist to be that Vaughn was only out golfing when Osik was in the batting cages.

I'm the opposite. I think they look better on the field and can now dig them.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
Why can't my man just be healthy. FWIW, in order: Zeke Bonura (233 hits) Frank Thomas (220 hits) Jose Abreu (215 hits) Luis Robert Jr. (200 hits)

They're also injured dudes over 30 trending downwards. They're by definition not in the team's future plans. Them getting injured means they'll have limited-to-no trade value. Fletcher has also found second life in Charlotte, so that's another guy who might come up and need at-bats. You have the over-30s so you can drop them, not so you can keep them and get rid of younger guys.

Slater just had a sub-.600 OPS in 2024, Rojas was .641 in back-to-back years, and Tauchman is 34-years-old and hurt himself running the bases (sound familiar?). If we're including Vargas in the future group due to a hot streak after being one of the worst in baseball for a year+, we might as well include Sosa because he's been on a streak of hitting the ball hard (I wish I could pull the numbers they ran during a game this past week).

In no universe should you drop the cost controlled 25-year-old for 3 injured guys over 30 that are on 1-year deals.
