  1. I'm worried because while my parents, who are in their 60s and have both had respiratory issues, actively avoid media like that, they live in a retirement community. Many of their friends in the retirement community follow people like Ingraham. It takes 1 person to decide "fuck this, I'm done," to wipe out the entire community, including my parents, who are only leaving to get groceries.
  2. This proves that it is indeed not correct.
  3. What do epidemiologists, virologists, and infectious disease experts know???
  4. Because according to CDC estimates, done before society took preventative measures, 200,000 to 1.7 million could be left dead. That's why. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/13/us/coronavirus-deaths-estimate.html
  5. There is going to be so much weird shit come out of this.
  6. The Senate punted on a bill requiring paid sick leave. Considering many people live paycheck to paycheck, this ain't happening.
  7. The physician for Congress and the Supreme Court said 80 to 150 million people in the US will likely get infected. If we take that low number and apply a 1% fatality rate, which I need to stress the stated fatality rate could be higher (if we go by diagnosed cases divided by death) or lower, we get 800,000 dead in the US. That would have a catastrophic butterfly effect on the healthcare system and the US as a whole.
  8. Well, there goes the College World Series.
  9. We have Grandal, Encarnación, Abreu, and McCann on the MLB roster. Collins can play semi-passable defense. Vaughn is 21 and the #3 pick. Right now, if Yermin is the 26th man, he's getting at bats in National League games when they take the second pitcher out. If Encarnación goes down for any extended period, Yermin needs McCann traded to have an audition period where he can prove the DH spot is his, not Abreu's, when Vaughn inevitably arrives. So, if he can play defense, we're talking.
  10. I'm sold from the title and tease alone.
  11. Grandal caught 137 and 135 games the past two years.
  12. Pretty sure it was always Moncada or Benintendi Kopech Devers (Hahn's ask) or Basabe / Diaz

I like Dunning, but let's cool the jets. Lopez had a pretty good 2018 and Rodon, at times, has flashed being the ace we hoped we'd be getting but has had issues with health and consistency. Let's see Dunning perform above AA before anointing him.
  14. Ok. We stopped talking about Jake Burger a long time ago. If anyone wants to discuss PEDs in sports, go to the pub. If we want to actually discuss Burger's future or what he's doing in Glendale, create a new thread.
  15. And Arizona Fall League* Truthfully, we should just really try to convince the Dbacks to trade for him.
  16. Offensive: Engel Defensive: Engel Overall: Engel
  17. I know you've heard Garfein gush about his Bull Durham homer. https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/white-sox/story-luis-roberts-mammoth-home-run-over-bull-durham Or this one that went over the scoreboard
  18. Turn on the broadcast, Cubs broadcasters are taking pity on the Astros.
  19. Learning about that upside target at #11 is exciting, not gonna lie. But also, today I learned my hometown is responsible for Honel and I don't think I can forgive @Y2Jimmy0 for that.
  20. How dare you besmirch Putnam like that.
  21. 3 bad innings as a Cub vs. 140 pretty good innings as a White Sox Yeah, he's an ex-Cub.
