  1. Division is terrible. How do your sort it in division once you've settled on what division goes first? Either do a lottery or do that terrible idea I had awhile ago where there's a minor league playoff to dictate order. Your minor league team is made of 5 AAA, 5 AA, 5 A+, 5 A-, 5 R players. No MLB experience. Since they're ditching September call-ups it's fine.
  2. I blame everyone that wanted Robert up now.
  3. Cause as we've learned the hard way, prospects get injured.
  4. Walker who is a left-handed centerfielder having a breakout season; Rutherford is a left-handed rightfielder finally on the bounceback and is young for AA; and Collins is a young, left-handed catcher who just made the bigs. And we just want a "decent" starting pitcher? This is how we end up with Tatis for Shields.
  5. That ain't slightly offensive to victims of domestic abuse.
  6. Damn, @Chicago White Sox just tanked @WBWSF's future job application for White Sox GM.
  7. Yup. Post that there. Not every complaint warrants a thread.
  8. Quick aside, people always seem to forget the NBA owned the Hornets at that point. They mixed the trade cause it sucked for the Hornets.
  9. Two options: Paul gets traded immediately, which would likely be to Miami. Probably the most ideal scenario for OKC as they get shorter contracts and individual players who can be dealt. I doubt they'd get picks or a young player, unless they did a Justise Winslow - Andre Roberson swap, but then the deal would have to wait until 12/15 (because they added Roberson - this is according to Woj's tweet). If they wait until 12/15, all of the recently signed Lakers are fair game but...it doesn't make much sense for LA to trade for Paul. They'd have 0 depth with who they'd have to give up for Paul. It only works if he's willing to leave his massive deal on the table and take a buyout.
  10. I'm 99.99% certain that since he's on a ML deal, Palka is set to make $567,000 this year, even being in the minors. And he gets the MLB pension. This is less of a "Daniel Palka isn't really a middle class dude" post and more of a the MLBPA is the most powerful union in the country post. It's amazing what they can pull off for people like Daniel freaking Palka.
  11. Nets are generally soft and not hard, yes.
  12. $16M/2YR with a club or mutual option? If he keeps this up. He was DFA'd last year. Now he's an all-star. End result is likely somewhere in between.

    7/10 Games

I want Troutwine to succeed based on name alone.
  14. @Lillian I owe you an apology. Really confused by how they'll balance Reed and Collins, unless they're sending Collins back down.
  15. Knew what it was before clicking. That intro was the GOAT.
  16. Eh, I came off as being a dick, so it's on me. He only has to be on the 40 man roster. If he falls off of that, he never had a future here.
  17. Sorry, I thought it was clear that I was joking with you due to history. I should have made it clear and that's my bad. Reed's claim is pretty much depth at this point. He's Casey Gillaspie 2.0. Sacrificing Collins development (once Castillo is back, it's pretty clear Collins is going to rotate at 1B/DH/C a lot) isn't worth a guy who hasn't hit at the MLB level unless he obliterates the ball at Charlotte.
  18. Cause Collins is gonna probably get Alonso's playing time. I know Reed bats left handed, but it's ok Lillian, so does Collins.
  19. Anyone who looked past HR in the box score. It's not good being a two-outcome player.
  20. This made me kinda sad. Then I was very happy.
  21. I don't think anyone even remotely disagrees with that.
  22. He'll cite whatever makes him look best, traditional or sabermetrics.
  23. Man, I love Jose. Seeing this thread get torn apart because his All Star selection is somehow proof that sabermetrics is bunk is mindblowing and disheartening.
