  1. "Where should I bat Timmy?" "Probably 4th at this point." Stares at Anderson "Ricky, can you hear me?" Sees #7 "That's it."
  2. I'm fascinated by you as a GM. You'd never hand out big contracts, but you really don't like focusing on prospects.
  3. Man, I've been wondering why you did that to yourself.
  4. I can so-sign this. Wolves are probably my favorite animal because of Waldo. Plus, I made this thread in 2011.
  5. Honestly, bring Waldo the White Sox Wolf in as manager at this point. The most failed of mascots would be better.
  6. But we'd expect the Sox to skip on the HS shortstops. SO MAYBE THEY WON'T?
  7. This is a painfully accurate assessment of the team.
  8. Yes, but usually the tanking calls happen when they're 15 out in mid-August. Not 2 games out in early May.
  9. No, that's a spontaneous reaction to a loss. That happens whenever a loss happens.
  10. No. Nature of the internet. Check Red Sox fans after Nicky's walkoff. "I hate this team."
  11. James McCann continues to be the most amazing enigma.
  12. Enough time has passed that he can adopt "Put it on the board." He grew up a Sox fan. Get Hawk's blessing.
  13. I want it to be an inside-the-park home run at Regions.
  14. I got a good laugh when a Giants fan said they didn't expect the White Sox to be one of the most fun teams in baseball this year after Nicky's walkoff. A White Sox fan responded that the Giants fan only got the highlights.
  15. For what it's worth, the r/baseball board made of fans from across baseball loves Benetti and Stone as a pairing. Whenever they're mentioned, fans from other teams call them the best announcing duo.
  16. It was Hoffman before injury, Nola if Rodon was taken. Rodon was the right choice, you can't account for hindsight. Aiken was the Astros trying to get cute (ended up working out for them with Bregman) and Kolek was the Marlins in love with his fastball. Rodon looked like the second coming of Sale.
  17. If Rutschman somehow magically falls to the Sox, parts of Soxtalk will somehow find a way to say it was a bad move because we'd have to sign him overslot, it didn't work out with Rodon, there has to be a reason the Royals and O's passed on him, etc.
  18. Really, based on nothing but Kannapolis and Spring Training, I think Mitchell would have panned out if not for the injury.
  19. If the Bulls don't get Morant, I'd use the cap space on Brogdon, and then you can take a risk on someone like Garland in the draft. Granted - you're gonna have to use up the entire cap on Brogdon, so its a big gamble / I'm not sure how the bird rights for Lauri would be affected.
  20. Right. But the point was Wil Myers drew Trea Turner after batting .222 Shelby Miller trade happened. James Shields happened. Players with options are assets, despite what you think.
  21. Well fortunately GMs like AJ Preller exist. He traded a freshly drafted, top prospect Trea Turner for Wil Myers, who batted .222 the season before.
