  1. Leury and Sanchez will both get spots over Delmonico/Asche/Peter.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 28, 2017 -> 03:35 PM) Honestly the fact that anyone wants him is the headline here. He is going to generate a garbage return at best. SoxTalk: Brinson or bust
  3. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jul 28, 2017 -> 09:48 AM) If you consider us to be l"light on pitching" what the heck do you think about nearly every other mlb farm system??? Last I checked we have Yoan Moncada up the middle, Robert/Cordell/Engel in CF We have greatly added depth all over the diamond in the past 12 months He just wants to find something new to gripe about since 'hero worship' no longer applies.
  4. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 28, 2017 -> 08:49 AM) Cubs got Anthony Rizzo for Andrew Cashner. After the Sox traded Chris Sale, Jose Quintana and Adam Eaton, they still don't have anyone in their organization that is likely become a player as good as Rizzo. Theo didn't have a young, talented, controllable core like Sale, Quintana and Eaton to build around, so he had to tear down and rebuild and he did an extraordinary job. The Sox have traded away more value than Theo did and the jury is still out on the prospects they got in return. The Sox don't have a stellar record when it comes to developing talent. And what are the odds that whomever the Sox draft in 2018 turns out to be as good a player as Kris Bryant? Would JR be willing to bring in an experienced, highly rated manager? I understand what the Sox are trying to do but by no means are they guaranteed to be as successful as the Cubs, Astros or Royals. Some seem to think that just because it worked for the Cubs it's a sure thing it will turn out as successful for the Sox. It could go either way. It would be a shame if it turns out the Sox exchanged a young, inexpensive, controllable core of Sale, Quintana and Eaton for a decade or more of mediocrity. I would have felt better if the Sox were able to trade these guys for top rated prospects with ETAs of 2017 and 2018 and then augment them with good FA signings. Now we'll just have to bear with horrible baseball for a couple of years and wait to see if the Sox organization under Buddy Bell and Chris Getz can develop these A level prospects and hope Moncada doesn't turn out to be another Gordon Beckham. Well, Moncada, Jimenez and Robert all have the ability to become as good or better than Rizzo. So...
  5. I'm liking Burger more and more
  6. QUOTE (KnightsOnMintSt @ Jul 27, 2017 -> 10:37 AM) I think I would go with Reynaldo Lopez at No.1. Any other system, easily. But Hansen could be the GOAT
  7. Definitely want him up in September working with Coop.
  8. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 27, 2017 -> 06:29 PM) Why is it the riskiest? Buddy Bell?
  9. Giving Hahn a 10 at this point. Since they've declared a rebuild, the amount of talent he's stockpiled is astounding.
  10. Also, anyone disliking this trade because they wanted more is just being contrarian.
  11. QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Jul 27, 2017 -> 11:20 AM) I don't get the last few trades, especially the trading of Swarczak and Jennings, where nothing of use came back. I wish the Sox did not trade Kahnle to the Yankees and instead packaged him with Swarzak and/or Jennings to get a better prospect, for example Brinson from the Brewers. Cordell and Gillaspie definitely have use. You're not getting a Top 100 for either Jennings or Swarzak.
  12. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Jul 27, 2017 -> 11:11 AM) Wow, is there a point where we say, "Enough is enough, we can let the big league team be TOO bad"? We're giving up an average lefty reliever for someone that was a Top 100 a few months ago.
  13. Holy s*** that's an amazing get.

QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jul 26, 2017 -> 10:31 PM) It's worse than just sending $4 million because we have to watch him pitch. He is the Tank Commander
  15. Adrian Beltre is the new official GOAT
  16. Quin replied to flavum's topic in FutureSox Board
All you guys need some lefties in your hypothetical rotations. At the very least Rodon. But god, the most exciting part is how many of these pitchers (including Rodon), have true #1 ace potential.
  17. Well, we've got the first outright discriminatory policy.
  18. Would have like a bigger return, but I ain't mad about this. If he turns into a starter, that's a win.
  19. Also, Milwaukee's Top 30 reads like a phonebook for Medieval England.
  20. Wait WTF is going on with McCain?
  21. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 03:20 PM) don't forget to add PR in there too, then we'd have 54-50. Taxation, representation. Rinse, repeat.
