  1. Watching the Kanny and Winston-Salem lineups, I'm really hoping the offensive productions rubs off on one another.
  2. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 10:33 PM) Nyt has the story too https://mobile.nytimes.com/2017/07/20/us/po...t.co/HudxoSl4bb Trump is going to cause a massive constitutional crisis God, the novelization and subsequent movies of this time are going to be fascinating.
  3. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 09:30 PM) Where can these numbers be found? I'd like them for quick reference when people say there's no evidence of improvement. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playe...tion=C#fielding He's throwing out 40% of runners. For reference, Yadier Molina's career average is 41%.
  4. QUOTE (Tony @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 09:27 PM) Is it crazy to want Giolito up here now, get a few starts with Cooper at the helm? What's the difference with him getting bombed in AAA and getting hit around for the 2017 White Sox at this point? Giolito needs time working with Coop and Shields badly.
  5. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 12:20 PM) From a minor league depth perspective, I'm not sure there's too many organizations in a better spot than the Sox when it comes to catcher. Hell, count Omar in there as he should really only be entering AAA by this point. The Sox have legitimate catching prospects and the fact that Collins is seemingly developing well defensively makes me happy enough to offset his disappointing average.
  6. I vote Yolmer as the utility infielder moving forward. Saladino's back concerns me.
  7. QUOTE (GermanSock @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 03:31 PM) Article on fangraphs. Says hahn got a ton of talent but is leaning toeards the risky high ceiling lowish floor side (technically every prospect is risky but a benintendi less so than a moncada).teams are just very clingy to their high floor advanced prospects. I'd say he's gotten a decent mix of high floor, low ceiling and high ceiling, low floor guys.
  8. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 01:21 PM) Steve bought another billboard huh? RealGM board.
  9. Nice thing about Anderson is if Moncada and Jimenez play like they can, Anderson only needs to become an Alexei level player vs. a superstar.
  10. QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 11:05 AM) This reminds me of Hawk talking about Avi's ceiling. Too optimistic. That's reasonable for ceiling. Whether he comes close is another matter.
  11. Draft comp was Grady Sizemore.
  12. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 19, 2017 -> 11:05 PM) Juan Minaya with 13.5 K/9 through 18 innings. I'm watching. Flip him to the Yankees.
  13. Luckily for John McCain's family, members of Congress will get to retain good healthcare.
  14. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/19/us/polit...re-iphone-share He's so very f***ed and he knows it.
  15. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 19, 2017 -> 04:18 PM) I listed to it. Rutherford recommended by Hostetler, Kenny Williams and Buddy Bell. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also Hostetler. The scouting director with a dramatically different philosophy.
  16. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 19, 2017 -> 01:28 PM) Older admins/mods with not a lot of team control left on their deals who had no value to Soxtalk during the site rebuild. Sorry Jason and SS2K5.
  17. It seems that Trump's only business skill is not paying things he's supposed to pay for.
  18. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jul 19, 2017 -> 01:36 AM) Engel? May? Mickerr? Slim pickings. Those three, that order.
  19. Well, we're gonna have two really good picks these next two years.
  20. QUOTE (RudyLawRules @ Jul 19, 2017 -> 01:07 AM) So is his draft day player comp. So you're telling me he'll be somewhere between Q and Kershaw?
  21. QUOTE (RudyLawRules @ Jul 19, 2017 -> 01:00 AM) Hmmm... https://www.pinstripealley.com/2016/12/20/1...arting-rotation This is retroactively hilarious.
  22. Rutherford #6 in Sox system, Clarkin #18 per MLB.com
  23. QUOTE (beautox @ Jul 19, 2017 -> 12:47 AM) This is a good deal for the white sox Rutherford's "value" is roughly 38M. I look at the deal like this Kahnle for Rutherford (i was expecting a return of two back half pieces for him say Bauers and Sanchez from TB) instead they got a top 30 prospect in baseball to along with two other studs in Jimenez and Robert Robertson for Clarkin - based off the $ remaining on his contract and the sox not eating any and the returns for doolittle and madson this seems right. Frazier for Polo & Clippard - I previously expected Frazier to bring back Swihart and Bell from the red sox so Polo if he becomes a 4th outfielder is a win. Hahn could've possibly gotten more by holding out on Kahnle but the FO loves Rutherford and they decided to be risk adverse in this situation, thats fair and its returned the sox another top 100 prospect and a LHP who could thrive in our system and a possible fourth outfielder for the next competitive white sox team. Congratulations to Hahn and Cooper for turning Gordon Beckham into Yency Almonte into Kahnle into Blake f***ing Rutherford. the take away Gordon Beckham is the gift that keeps on giving. I'm finally cool with the Yency Almote trade.
  24. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 19, 2017 -> 12:24 AM) But seriously guys, we have like 12 bucks dedicated to the payroll going forward... #Q2020
  25. And now it begins.
