  1. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Oct 28, 2016 -> 10:35 PM) Heyward is going to get a hit Bruh
  2. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 28, 2016 -> 10:17 PM) My hear just came out of my chest just now. Foul. Talk about luck. Get Bryant out on an awful swing.
  3. Hey guys, remember how the Nancy Faust is the originator of this tradition?
  4. I can't complain - that would have been a really hard call to overturn as it wasn't conclusive.
  5. ...I actually think he might be safe. Can't tell though, so probably ruled no.
  6. Not a fan of Davis trying to stretch that.
  7. Oh god watch this get overturned even though that's impossible to conclusively overturn.
  8. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 28, 2016 -> 09:30 PM) Especially considering you pinch ran for your catcher. If I was going to do that, I'd have rather taken a chance on stealing 2nd before I'd bunt. Wild pitch works as well.
  9. Just got home and yeesh, Soler over Heyward. Talk about the mighty have fallen.
  10. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 28, 2016 -> 09:57 AM) Portis is an interesting DNP. I actually thought Rondo looked pretty bad. Wade looked great though, shows what he can still do when fresh. I found myself pissed off any time he was called for a foul. It didn't seem like that was allowed when he was in a different jersey. Felicio is a better center than Portis, so it happens.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 27, 2016 -> 11:15 PM) He's a genius. Great take, Mr. Carlin. I saw him in concert in Vegas and he was amazing. He had all the women in the audience so pissed at him. He did a cool segment on modern names of children compared to good names like Mike, Joe, Bill, and he rattled off so many modern names of kids that he said were awful. Half the women in the audience probably had kids with those names. As much as I love Carlin, citing "pissing off women about what they named their kids" isn't exactly giving Carlin his due for genius. Instead it's low-hanging fruit that really should have been beneath him.
  12. James Shields will be a 2017 All-Star after he is visited by Mark Buehrle, who imparts his wisdom unto him like a baseball version of Yoda.
  13. D-Wade hit 7 threes all of last year. He has 4 tonight.
  14. My dad was listening to Rooney and Farmer, he couldn't stand the Fox announcers. Radio was slightly ahead of the game, so he sat there with his headphones in. Suddenly he gets this grin and starts fist pumping in his seat, so my mom and I figured they got the last out but god damn did the three of us erupt in celebration after they won. Played Celebration by Kool and the Gang in the house. And the next day I pissed off every single Cubs fan around. Anyone saying that only Red Sox fans will know what Indians or Cubs fans will go through is so, so very wrong.
  15. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 11:35 AM) Some were policy decisions, others went far beyond and he was blamed for the "culture" that was tolerated, which was and is still bulls***. You're right, they don't have the time to micromanage, so they appoint people that they believe is the best person for the job. And when those people fail to run their departments, it reflects on the person who appointed them in the first place. ...like Ashton Carter?
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 10:49 AM) Technically, more people have insurance now with Obamacare than before (so more people would have some form of coverage). I agree that there are disasters and major issues with it. To me you either go single payer or you don't. That is the only way it can truly work successfully. Whether as a country we are ready to do that while still having the right standards in place to ensure we have high quality care, incentives for innovation in the medical industry (as well as incentives for doctors to go through all it takes to be a doctor). Not an easy solution. The interesting thing is once you turn 65, everyone in this country is all for a single payer model (i.e., medicare / medicaid). prior to that, burn in hell if you want to socialize medicine. What gives? Some sort of bias towards believing we need to care for the elderly but no one else?
  17. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 11:14 AM) Sorry, I wrote "does" instead of "did" in my original post. My bad. You're all good. My confusion was just running high.
  18. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 11:05 AM) Just like the VA scandal, which still continues without much coverage, Obama gets yet another pass on some terrible management/policies when it comes to our vets. How does no one in his administration raise a hand and say this is bulls*** and a terrible idea? Did you miss the first two words in this thread title?
  19. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 10:35 AM) dan haren ‏@ithrow88 13h13 hours ago Two years ago I beat Corey Kluber 1-0....Today, I walked my 2 pugs while wearing a "pug life" t-shirt. Life comes at you fast. Amazing.
  20. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 10:18 PM) Except the Cubs were actually able to get runners on base against Miller. That doesn't bode well for Cleveland for the rest of the series. They need Miller to be what he was against the Blue Jays to make up for their lack of starting pitching. That was on Miller, not the Cubs.
