  1. I'd be asking for Urias, De Leon, Verdugo, Bellinger, Alvarez, Lux and Buehler in exchange for Sale, Frazier and Jennings. Then turning around Quintana and Jones for Benintendi, Devers, Groome and Kopech. Maybe you can work in Abreu as their new DH and get Moncada in place of Devers. At that point you're in a full rebuild - ship off Melky, Eaton, Gonzalez and Robertson. The new farm looks great in this scenario, before getting what should be decent returns for Melky and Gonzalez, an OK package for Robertson and a stellar package for Eaton. 2017 Sox youth movement sans Melky/Eaton/Gonzalez/Robertson deals LHP: Rodon, Urias, Groome, Guerrero RHP: De Leon, Kopech, Fulmer, Adams, Hansen, Burdi, Alvarez, Buehler, Stephens, Danish 1B: Bellinger, Zangari, Danny Hayes 2B: Saladino (if healthy) and Sanchez for now SS: Anderson, Lux, Curbelo 3B: Devers, Michalczewski C : Collins, Narvaez OF: Benintendi, Verdugo, Call, Fisher, Adolfo, Tilson, May, Engel But instead, I fully expect us to sign Jason Castro, re-sign Morneau and go for it.
  2. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 01:04 AM) she won't concede tonight Just did. America elected hate.
  3. The lives and well beings of my LGBTQ friends is less important than emails.
  4. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 8, 2016 -> 08:18 PM) So if Trump does win this country will have elected a racist, fascist, sexist candidate who did nothing but lie his entire campaign and who's only stated policies are his ridiculous tax policy and his racist policies. Let's be honest - a Trump presidency could effectively destroy the country.
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 8, 2016 -> 08:16 PM) I'm in full panic mode honestly I'm there as well.
  6. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Nov 8, 2016 -> 11:01 AM) Yep, beat me to it. Same. I need one of Fowler/Cespedes, Wieters/Ramos and Bautista/Reddick before I'll have any confidence in this team.
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 8, 2016 -> 07:24 AM) the day of gregoning is here Legitimately laughed out loud here.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 6, 2016 -> 03:01 PM) You guys act like I'm the only person taking this position. In real life, I detest peanut butter and sloppy joes. If somebody places them in front of me and says, choose one to eat, I just have to decline. Both would literally make me puke. Why is this any different? Both candidates are horrific, so how do you choose one? You can't, so you don't. Now clearly you're trolling. No one detests both peanut butter AND sloppy joes.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 5, 2016 -> 02:20 PM) Please answer this truthfully. In a hypothetical situation, lets say a genie would assure you 100 percent that the Sox would win the WS next season and make playoffs seven of the next 10 years (only assuring the one WS crown; Sox would have to earn the rest) but the tradeoff is your beloved Hillary would LOSE to Trump and Trump would be president one term. Would you take the deal with the genie? Nothing else would be asked of you. Just this tradeoff. If Hillary being elected over Trump meant the Sox would move, I'd take it. Trump would be that disastrous.
  10. Pretty sure the whole story has her laughing about lie detectors, because that was when she realized not to trust them. She was a public defender at the time. Caulfield's link confirms.
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 12:14 PM) I mean we see that game played all the time, just not in those circumstances. The circumstances made it compelling, but the game itself was not all that incredible, with the exception of Kipnis scoring from second on a wild pitch and Rajai hitting a clutch homer against Chapman. But there really was not much drama except for the last few innings. Circumstances + the Indians rally. Lindor made one of the greatest plays ever (given circumstances) if the Indians had won. Davis' homer was absurd. It started s***ty, then when Lester came in it became a great game.
  12. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 12:10 PM) Really? I'm only 24, and specifically from Indians rally forward. The beginning of that game sucked.
  13. As a whole, this World Series was mediocre. Game 7 however was one of the greatest games of baseball I've ever watched once Rajai Davis became Jobu.
  14. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 09:20 AM) Was nice to hear the sports radio guys here in Seattle this morning saying how sick they already are of the Cubs coverage. Said they've jumped shark. The transition to a run of the mill mega payroll ball club, like the Red Sox, has already begun. Yup. It's funny, but the magic is now gone from them.
  15. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 09:02 AM) Well I think most Americans (even center lefts to medium lefts) probably realize a conservative SCOTUS is safer for the people. That's why Trump will probably win. But I think to your point, in case of a Hillary victory, most people probably want a republican congress to slow any Hillary/Bernie ideas down. For example, those crazies want complete govrnmt control of healthcare. Scary scary scary to those who fight for their dollars. I think you'll see that reflected in the final voting. If by safer, you mean safer for straight white Christians. Everyone else, well, no.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 12:52 AM) What about the suburbs? There have to be some great locations. Lot of cities are in the suburbs. Arlington, Atlanta, etc It's still more accessible.
  17. So, Doctor Strange may be the most visually stunning film ever.
  18. Congratulated 4 friends today - former roommate who still can't believe it, a friend who we mutually agreed to root against the other's team but to be happy for them, my best friend's mom who cried into her mother's handkerchief at the final out and a teammate who I hugged at practice, he teared up because he honestly hadn't expected it from me and it meant the world to him.
  19. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Nov 3, 2016 -> 11:03 PM) It didn't have to be that way. JR's biggest blunder was not building the new stadium in a very accessible and fan friendly location. He's always been about the bottom line above all else and that explains why he has failed to transform the franchise into something better. He's just not capable of seeing the bigger picture when it comes to spending on the team. It is quite possibly in the most accessible location possible.
  20. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 3, 2016 -> 09:15 AM) FutureSox had him at 23rd, from the July list. Things only got worse after. Likely he doesn't even make the Top 30 in January, and what little stock is left is all on that big raw power and the extremely slim chance he can use it. Yeah. Very likely he doesn't make the next list.
  21. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Nov 3, 2016 -> 11:23 AM) We still have twice as many championships as they do in the last 100 years. AND the only head-to-head.
