  1. QUOTE (Blackout Friday @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 06:25 PM) I want to see Q to the Yankees for Frazier, Torrens, Rutherford, Torrens (not to be confused with Torres). Wait, what?
  2. I both agree and disagree with SS2k5. Prospects are definitely more valuable now and harder to get. The big thing is that the Shelby Miller trade and the explosion in contracts have made it so that bargain players and elite are commanding more. So like, prospects were once worth $.50 and elite players worth $2. Now prospects are worth $1 and elite players are worth $3 (this is all hilariously inexact math). The Sox are just the most top heavy team ever so they can cash in.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 06:07 PM) If not Bregman, they had better clean off Houston's next five top position player prospects. Really they need Bregman worse than ever. Agreed.
  4. QUOTE (gosoxtim8 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 05:59 PM) so bruce levine saying the nationals will put adam in center insead of right https://twitter.com/MLBBruceLevine/status/806639448448499712 And suddenly, they devalue Eaton.
  5. QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 05:57 PM) Who? But best match I see is Cubs write for Sports Mockery
  6. QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 05:50 PM) Need position players including outfielders, Right now 2017 outfield is Melky/Shuck/Avi G. Tilson
  7. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 02:03 PM) Heyward still has way more upside than Eaton ever will because of his athleticism and tools. Eaton's maxed out and I would guess GM's aren't going to be fooled by WAR numbers that are inflated by RF defense. People keep bringing up his WAR, but he's still a guy that finished 19th in MVP voting and will probably never be higher. You aren't going to give up the farm for that. Heyward showed us what he is maxed out in his season with the Cardinals, which is basically Adam Eaton.
  8. QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 02:00 PM) I'm specifically responding to the repercussion Q mentioned for Lawrie or Anderson. I didn't hear Sale saying I'm Chris freaking Sale, you cannot cut me or suspend me for my actions. My point was Sale got away with a lot of s*** that is unacceptable because of his talent. Obviously sports provide superstar treatment, but people need to stop acting like its excusable, because if one player does it and it's insane, it's insane for all players.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 01:45 PM) That makes a lot more sense. If you take Turner off of the table, a deal isn't possible. But if you start tapping into what the Yankees have to offer, that changes the equation. It's the only way it makes sense. Q+Eaton without Turner on the table isn't happening unless the Sox pull in Giolito, Robles, Lopez and way more.
  10. QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 01:36 PM) That's not the story. He cut up the jersey because they weren't comfortable to pitch in, it would affect his performance. He complained to Brooks Hoyer and the FO but they won't listen. Sale felt that the management was too focused on marketing and jersey sales, not winning or the baseball game itself. He rebelled and cut up the jersey. To each their own, I don't think I, or other fans, need to hate or hold a grudge on him for this. It was on the calendar for months. The apologists for that episode are ridiculous. If Anderson went nuts and did that he'd have been sent to AAA, someone like Lawrie would probably get cut.
  11. I don't think anyone is saying Sale isn't a stellar teammate. He seems like the type of guy that would give you the shirt off his back. He just has authority problems and can act insane sometimes. I know I have a similar temper sometimes when playing sports, but I don't make millions. Ultimately it's not a reason to trade him, King Felix is the reason to trade him and Sale will always be a South Side legend who I'd love for them to get back one day. Despite that, he's an insane SOB which is his biggest strength and weakness.
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 11:55 AM) Smash Bros: Melee reportedly will be coming to the Nintendo Switch along with Super Mario Sunshine, Luigis Mansion, and Animal Crossing. Smash bros Melee is a good move by them, there is still a huge following for that game and still many competitions(i dont think eSports though) Fox. No items. Final destination. But on the real, the Gamecube was an amazing console so it's a good idea to add that nostalgia factor.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 10:45 AM) Getting him into a more relaxed clubhouse is worth the gamble. If you turn him around, you either get a superstar OF, or you get an amazing trade piece. If not, he isn't signed that long anymore. And maybe you build a new Cuban connection with him, Moncada and possibly Abreu as an elder statesman. Also, keeping in theme with Cuban Missile, Cuban Tank and Cuban Comet, we really need some for Abreu and Moncada.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 11:04 AM) #serpentwatch #QuintanaTakesFlight I hope whatever fanbase gets him next, they discover that nickname and roll with it.
  15. I'm down for this for all the reasons Balta listed.
  16. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 09:53 AM) No way New York parts with that much for Quintana and Robertson Torres is not going anywhere after destroying the Arizona Fall League People were saying the same about Moncada and Kopech. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 10:13 AM) I would not be shocked if Rodon gets moved. There have been little hints about it in the past, even yesterday when RH was talking about Sale he said he has "others" that fit the description of front line pitchers that teams can plug into playoff rotations. I know that Rodon seems like the kind of asset you hang on to, but given his agent and his performance in the second half, I could see the Sox moving him to try to build a core at the lower levels. Kopech is likely two years away as is Hansen, Burdi would be too if they decide to make him a starter. If they get the right deal for him, I think Rodon could get moved soon as well. Er, moving Rodon makes 0 sense.

    Catcher

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 09:42 AM) I say Wellington Castillo, or just bring back Avila. Let Narvaez get good playing time. I do think the Sox will probably acquire a ML ready catcher in one of these deals though. Tom Murphy from the Rox or Pedro Severino from the Nats are two to keep an eye on. I just wish Avila could stay healthy. He'd be a great tutor Narvaez and then hopefully you get him in a coaching role eventually.
  18. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 02:24 PM) Frazier and Robertson for Puig, Calhoun and Lux? Done. Love Lux and Calhoun. Puig could have rebound value.
  19. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 09:29 AM) Wasn't sure about a fourth piece given the names I threw out there but I'll happily take that fourth piece. Are you talking about Andy Diaz? Victor, from the Sale deal.
  20. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 09:27 AM) whitesoxdave ‏@barstoolWSD 20s20 seconds ago Disclaimer I have no idea what this means but f*** it let's get weird
  21. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 09:23 AM) How about Frazier, Rutherford and Tate? Done, but I love Rutherford. I still think there'd be a fourth piece a la Diaz.
  22. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 09:09 AM) Yesterday morning, I would have said that I think that that offer is too light but now I don't know what to expect lol Add in Tate and Torrens.
