  1. If they both hit their ceilings, Moncada 10/10 times.
  2. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 03:53 PM) I vote that Basabe will go down as the single most misspelled sox name on soxtalk since buehrle (no idea if i spelled that write, I always black out after the 'e') Conor Gillaspie
  3. I remember when he got drafted, this board was ecstatic that he fell to them. Chris, you were one crazy SOB, but damn you were fun to watch and you'll be missed. I'll actually cheer for the Red Sox to win now.
  4. QUOTE (daa84 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 03:39 PM) jeff passan from yahoo on with waddle and silvy said the sox are getting offers about 95% of what they got for sale. some teams preferred Quintana. Sign me up for that. The key to all this is to sell high on these guys, and now feels like the peak value for Jose. Same with eaton. Holy s***, yeah.
  5. Giolito, Robles + for Q and Robertson. Could it get done, if that's what was on the table for Sale?
  6. Updated this thread title, in case you're wondering what the Sox should expect for Q, Eaton and Jones.
  7. I have a soft spot in my heart for Jose, since he was the first MLB player I've ever interviewed. With Moncada in the fold, I'd like to see him stay.
  8. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 02:39 PM) Only Rodon in there. We'll see what the future brings LOL Well, Guerrero is in the system.
  9. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 02:33 PM) I'm not worrying about pitching at all for the future. It's almost always there for us. Now we could have a rotation of: Rodon Fulmer Kopech Hansen Stephens Keep Quintana in there until he's traded. Also, man, lefties, where you at?
  10. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 02:24 PM) Kopech is just as likely to blow out his arm as Sale is. I have not seen any proof or correlation of innings pitched to injuries. Not even worth discussing unless there is new evidence or research brought forward. Maybe, remember Coop and Herm?
  11. Top three prospects in baseball since MLB Pipeline showed up: 2011: Mike Trout, Bryce Harper, Matt Moore 2012: Jurickson Profar, Dylan Bundy, Wil Myers 2013: Byron Buxton, Oscar Taveras, Miguel Sano 2014: Byron Buxton, Carlos Correa, Kris Bryant 2015: Byron Buxton, Corey Seager, Lucas Giolito
  12. QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 01:52 PM) To be fair, he never had the opportunity to prepare for October. I also think he was overused for better part of the season, constantly throwing 110-120 pitches a game during the summer. The flip side is how many games did Sale demand to stay in? It'll be interesting seeing Sale without Coop, Herm and the Sox PR protecting him.
  13. This is the best outcome of the Drake LaRoche fiasco.
  14. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 12:45 PM) Kopech broke his hand fighting with his roommate. Sale cut up jerseys because they were uncomfortable. And it was a pattern supposedly. One of those is slightly more insane, neither excusable.
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 12:41 PM) I WENT TO LUNCH AND MISSED IT AFTER STAYING UP UNTIL ONE LAST NIGHT LMAO QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 12:41 PM) Love Moncada (not the K's), not sure if the others are enough. Kopech is a bigger hot head then Sale, Basbae is a strikeout king as well, and the other is a filler that might end up being a reliever Let's wait and see. Also, no one is a bigger hothead than Sale.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 12:37 PM) I am the exact opposite. Sure we got the #1 prospect, but there is literally no reason to care about this team for years now. These Kids Can Play Round 2?
  17. If you're interested in seeing what the Sox could expect for returns related to Quintana, Eaton and Jones, check out SoxNet's posted-just-in-time article http://www.chicagonow.com/soxnet/2016/12/p...aton-and-jones/
  18. Anyone disappointed with this needs to scale back and realize we acquired a near MLB ready, #1 prospect in baseball that is one of the highest regarded ever. Hopefully more is on the way, but Hahn got his "untouchable". Bummed to see Sale go - he's a Top 5 Sox pitcher all time, definitely most talented. But the rebuild has begun.
  19. If Devers or Groome are included, this is exactly what we needed.
  20. QUOTE (ChicagoHeel @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 11:56 AM) Bob Nightengale ‏@BNightengale 3m3 minutes ago The #Redsox and #Nats now in a dual battle for #WhiteSox ace Chris Sale with #Braves as dark horse Excellent.
  21. QUOTE (Blackout Friday @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 02:58 AM) DD mentioned getting an 8th inning guy is a top priority and that they need to watch payroll to stay under the tax threshold. He is known to covet power arms. Add Nate Jones to Sale and you could probably get a massive haul. I'm thinking Moncada, Devers, Kopech, plus others Adding Jones to get the Red Sox bidding could make the Nats bite on Turner. Those are the two teams Hahn needs to get contending with each other.

  23. QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 01:11 AM) I'm pretty sure at some point during the last two months I suggested a deal centering around Giolato and Robles could become a reality. That said, I think the package I suggested at the time rounded out like this thou: Giolato Robles Lopez Feede Stevenson I think anyone here would be stoked with that. I will take Lucas Gelato
